Dream Ticket Open Thread!

"People all over the world, join hands."

By Mark Kilmer Posted in | | Comments (42) / Email this page » / Leave a comment »

Hillary and Billy are dropping hints about the Dem Dream Ticket: with Hillary as the nominee, Barry in the veep slot. Democrats everywhere think the Dream Ticket would be UNSTOPPABLE!

In 2004, John Kerry called himself and John Edwards, "dream ticket."

What kind of nightmare are we having?

This takes me back to 2000, when alpha male Naomi Wolf and her earth tones made Love Train, by The Ojays, Al Gore's [very temporary] campaign theme. I thought the song would fit for Barry by himself, and we shall see, but for the purposes of this Open Thread, let's think of it in the context of the fictional Clinton/Obama '08 ticket.

A government big enough to give you everything you want is strong enough to take everything you have - Thomas Jefferson

I know you guys have a hard time hiding your racism. But referring to Obama as Barry, is no different than referring to Bush as Hitler - they're both white men after all :-)

You guys just don't get it do you? All your hateful, small minded meaness has backfired on you. The genius Rove and his elves at Faux TV, Rush, Ms Colter, the proudly ignorant president Bush - the country has left you. We're sick of your neo-con bullying that gets us into the mess we're in now, sick of your pandering to the rich that has landed us in this economic mess, sick of your big business, big oil strategies that have landed us in the energy mess we're in, sick of your fear, your scaredy pants 8 year old bravado, sick of compromising the constitution, accepting torture - making it hard to hold our head up in the world.

We have left you because you have no hope, just more crotch grabbing, John Wayne ignorance and arrogance.

I see another Republican (Illinois) bit the dust tonight. When are you tough guys going to learn? The dems can raise more money in an afternoon than McCain can in a month. Nobody wants more of you - we're sick of you.

And now take a listen to Rep King from Iowa today. More racist fear mongering. We're sick of you, and thankfully, we'll very soon be rid of you.

Sad thing is - you did it to yourselves.

Barry, huh?

These people don't actually make more sense when you're drunk.

"used" to refer to himself as Barry - that's what he was called & wanted to be called. I know of no stories that say he didn't want to be called Barry when he was younger. Now he goes by his given name, Barak - which is fine with me.

So much in this post to counter - at least spell Coulter right, geesh!

BTW: the economy was going pretty well until the dems took over the House & Senate...

Referring to the guy as anything other than "Barack (N/M/I) Obama" will somehow be perceived as racist and will bring on the end of the Republican Party.

Now, the other candidate also presents a conundrum. Is "Hillary" condescending? "Hillary Clinton" too male-centric? "Hillary Rodham Clinton" too polarizing?

I guess it's safest to stick with "The Monster".

There is more stupidity than hydrogen in the universe, and it has a longer shelf life. - Frank Zappa

Just not being racist or sexist would do your party good. Seems to be asking too much of you guys though.

What is it you were calling McCain when you didn't like him?

You guys are clever name callers. Thats why we all respect you so much :-)

From a man who's party is tearing itself apart with racist identity politics.

OH btw Bull Conners: Democrat

You guys are just so T-O-L-E-R-A-N-T.

As for crotch-grabbing, where's Bill? It's 3AM.

....that "Barry" is what Obama himself went by? HE CHOSE to be known as "Barry".

I mean seriously boys - Look at who you ended up with - the oldest man to ever run for the presidency - a liberal at that. And when accepting the endorsement of your president, they both go out of their way to explain why the president won't be appearing much with McCain on the campaign trail - Bush, it turns out, has SUCH a busy schedule - vetoing bills that ban torture for instance, like today.

Funny thing that excuse. Bush will set the all time record (beating Reagan's) this week for time spent on vacation, he's just that busy!

But the kicker? Just how desperate is McCain? How about accepting the endorsement of John Hagee?

Thats pretty pathetic. And explains even more clearly why the country has left the republican party.

and the witch! And our someone is a distinguished Senator and war hero.

Happy trails!

I'm sick of you too. I'm sick of the arrogant self-righteous do-gooder liberals who think it is their divinely inspired mission in life to convert the unwashed heathen conservative masses to the brilliance and wonder of modern liberal thought. I thought all of you wanted to empower the "little guy" to fight against the big, bad, evil forces out there in the world. Then why is it that at every turn, you all want to suck money and power away from individuals and place it in the hands of an uncaring, unfeeling, leviathan of a government? It's sad, really, that you all have such poor opinions of your fellow citizens that you really don't trust them to live their own lives as they see fit. Yet you feel perfectly qualified to run MY life and the lives of EVERYONE ELSE. You want to tell me: what car to drive (hybrids and boxes-on-wheels only), what gun to own (i.e., none),what radio programs to listen to (none of that eeeeeeeevil right-wing talk radio for you - here, have some NPR!), what food to eat (no Big Macs for you), what plants to smoke, how much money I should be allowed to make, and even what to think. Heaven forfend that I should question global warming - that puts me on the same moral plane as the Holocaust deniers! Why, I must want those cute polar bears to DROWN!

In short, you and your ilk have completely lost the concept of individualism. In fact, it's become just a myth to you. Everybody knows that it's not REALLY possible to pull yourself up by your bootstraps, make wise decisions, and come out on top in the end. Why, just look at you and your circle of liberal friends. Just because you all - being God's gift to mankind and all - are continually crushed by the eeeeevil forces of capitalism, "big oil", "big tobacco", "big this" and "big that", then CLEARLY a similar fate awaits the backwater knuckle-dragging inbred redneck Republican hicks who don't have HALF as much intelligence combined as the typical liberal has in his pinky. And if one of the Republican neanderthals dares to suggest that maybe, just maybe, the source of your problems isn't the evil robber barons holding you down, but perhaps may possibly result from some poor choices that you and your friends have made - why, that's heresy! That's mean-spirited! That's - gasp - JUDGMENTAL! Oh no, it's not your fault. It's the fault of "capitalism". Or "society". Or "Republicans".

Here is a wake-up call to you, stinky, and to your fellow travelers. You're not that smart. You DON'T know how to live my life, so don't even try. All I want from you is for you to leave me the heck alone. I don't want your "help". I don't want your "compassion". I don't want you casting me in the role of a victim. I don't want you lumping me into some group and then requiring me to obey the will of the collective. I am an individual, with my own dignity that deserves respect for its own sake. Do you get it yet? Stop trying to tell me how to live my life. I am quite capable of doing that on my own and I really don't care if you don't agree with my choices.

Kudos! Kudos! Kudows!

Morally Compromised

is enormous, really huge, yet Denny himself could not find it with both hands....

He lost the House, why should we be surprised he'd leave his own district in disarray?

Where is Charles Schumer when you need him?

Foster riding in Obama's wake, then Foster's win starting another media cycle talking point for Obama tomorrow.

For Barry's following, accepting the VP nomination would be a deep humiliation.

Likewise for Hillary, even though her experience has her cut out to be the perfect Vice President: cut the ribbons, drink the tea, campaign for literacy, and bake no cookies, same as for first lady.

It's going to be fun.

Obama is just letting this slide? HRC obviously wants to put it into the heads of undecided dems that they will get a 3 for 1 deal if you vote for her (Pres. HRC/VP BHO/First Gentleman Bill). The one time Obama was asked about it he shurgged it off. The 3 for 1 offer might just sway undecids to HRC. If I were an Obama advisor, I would want to make it known that I would offer her the VP slot. She wont take it and you take a possible advantage off the table for her.

McCain '08

A little disco, referring to one of the Dem candidates by his chosen nickname, relaxed, disarming... BUT THEN, while I slept, the bad person came in and started his name-calling.

I also think Hillary wants to reassure Barry's supporters that her administration would include him. She's using him as a tool against himself, which is clever politics.

We weren't giving enough of the right responses, and that always annoys them beyond reason.

The Fuzzy Puppy of the VRWC. I've been usurped!

For Obama's supporters, the symbolism of playing second fiddle to Clinton is all wrong.

Besides: is he really the most qualified VP she could pick?

What never makes any sense to me is how the left always wants to call the right "hatefilled," but then they go on a hatefull disertation about conservitives.

He fails to mention this congressional district turned blue for the first time in 35 years.

Nothing to see-- just move along.

A longtime Republican district fell Saturday to the Democrats when a wealthy businessman and scientist snatched former House Speaker Dennis Hastert's congressional seat in a closely watched special election.

Or the following

1. Everyone knows the GOP is in trouble. And Illinois is one of their biggest headaches. There are three open seats as a result of retirements, one of which has been filled by a Democrat already. The other two seats are in jeapordy because the GOP has failed to recruit strong candidates.

Yeah nothing to see if you aren't going to look.

(politics aside) since both of them already have a campaign organization and ongoing fundraising activities, they would make a very well-prepared ticket. Rather than having a veep who is trying to hit the ground running they could just keep running. Change their signs from '..for President' to ...for vPresident'

I don't think it would happen either - egos too strong. But that ticket would have a lot of momentum right out of the gate.

He would be foolish to associate himself with the Clintons in any way or shape. The people around them end up dead or with huge legal bills. Not suggesting Obama is squeaky clean, either, but his corruption hasn't quite risen to the level of Bill Clinton yet. They will ruin him on either end of the ticket.

BTW, the racist Clintons have no intention of running with Obama. They are just throwing that out there so people will think they can vote for Hillary and get Obama, too. LOL.
