Heh. Heh. Heh.

Via Hot Air.

[UPDATED by Erick:] Just to remove all subtlety, Obama brought back the flag lapel pin. Remember, in October Obama said

"I decided I won't wear that pin on my chest," he said in the interview. "Instead, I'm going to try to tell the American people what I believe will make this country great, and hopefully that will be a testament to my patriotism."

Apparently, the great communicator wasn't communicating his patriotism very well. Is it any wonder, given his disdain for the middle class?

Adam, you shouldn't have given it away. It's like a "where's Waldo?"

I can unequivocally say I will not be running for national office in four years.

- Barack Obama, 11/04/04

Ben Smith has updated his post about this.
It seems that a veteran gave it to Obama and Obama told him he would be "honored" to wear it.

Just a typical, small town, white girl...

A regular, ordinary flag pin given to him by, say, a shoes salesman wouldn't have generated enough ritual oomph to make the pin mystically worthy of being worn by Senator Obama.

Ceremonial magic's like that, I suppose. :)

The Fuzzy Puppy of the VRWC. I've been usurped!

of the bitter veteran who gave him the pin, which he'd been clinging to since he lost both legs and one arm fighting in an illegal war.

and appeal to their pathetic "patriotism".

After making this small gesture, the bourgeois idiots of Pennsylvania will rally around Obama as their "leader" (because flyover country needs to be "led"; God knows they can't lead themselves!).

When the simpletons see the bling (a sophisticated urban term) on display, they will forsake their pathetic aspirations to "middle-classness" and join their benevolent leader in soldarity with the working classes to give up their guns, pitchforks and fanciful notions of self sufficiency, individualism and nationalism, the meme of imperialism and blood-sucking capitalism.

These zombies in Pennsylvania must be taught that the power of hope transcends language. Words, in fact, have no meaning because the dialectic proves that only economics is the driving force behind reality. Where economic forces meet the workers' exprience of those forces, this is reality.

What in the world is his good friend and mentor of 20 years going to think when he sees Barack wearing a symbol of the "U.S. of KKK?"

Will he need to beg forgiveness from Louis Farrakhan?

Will his wife retain her newfound pride in the country?

Will anyone become ill after viewing the photo?

Hu and Ahmadinejad have to be giddy at the thought of facing him, after seeing how easily he's folded on the lapel pin.

Did Proteinwisdom get attacked again?

Semper Fi

and this stuff is about as hard hitting as Cindy McCain stealing recipes from the Food Network...

Isn't gas expensive enough already?

Oh, hey, whattaknow, Obama is wearing the flag. I can just picture that staff meeting.

BO: I HOPE you've thought of a way to CHANGE the yokels' perception of me.
STAFF: Um, try wearing a flag. That will fool those bitter rednecks.
BO: Yes, I can!

There is already a Federal gas tax, for some reason, and McCain wants to stop it for the summer.

Then, in the fall, he can talk about it again.

Hillary downs a shot of whiskey and proclaims gun rights.

Obama wears a flag pin.

Maybe McCain should wear a peace symbol and smoke a joint.

I never thought I would find a cheap shot at McCain offensive.

Of course I have to process the motivation. I mean it must be annoying watching your guys sell out to people you dislike in a really craven manner.

I thought you were reading that last line by sinz as a cheap shot at McCain, heh.

Niedermayer: What's that on your chest, mister?
Dorfman: It's a pledge pin, sir.
N: A pledge pin! On your uniform?
