Fred Stays In

Fred Thompson said last night that he has "a ticket to the next dance." He's going to go to South Carolina and fight.

Good for him. I'm sending more money.

He is, after all, carrying the consistent conservative message. And between McCain and him, he has an opening in South Carolina on the immigration issue. I expect that Romney, Huckabee, and McCain are going to have a three way fight on their hands for the next week.

Thompson does have an opening. Now he just needs money. And he needs to get out and deliver his message. He's going to get outspent. But he's decided to make this an issues race -- not a personality race. He can shine on that front.

You can listen to him in the clip here.

Boy how disappointed is that shyster from Boston and Ol Benny Hinn-Huckabee this morning? The REAL Conservative is still in the race and he didnt lie to anyyone and he didnt have to spend 10 million bucks in Iowa for that strong third place finish!! Imagine that.

I am supporting Fred Thompson all the way. I just gave him money today too!

He'll take South Carolina....just watch him!

GO FRED!!!

First, let me say that I support Fred and believe he is BY FAR the truest conservative in the field.

So why am I hearing so many rumours that he will support McCain if his campaign doesn't kick into high gear? Because let's face it - McCain is no conservative.

GO FRED GO!!!

That said, McCain might not be the staunchest conservative but he is conservative in most aspects. Also, if Fred cannot gain enough speed McCain may be our best Foreign policy candidate. That is what I see as the problem with all of the other candidates. They are conservative in one aspect and are in the middle on the other two, or we have no idea which way they stand on the other two. I am speaking of course about the 3 pillars of conservatism, foreign policy, social issues, and fiscal matters. Fred is the true conservative, but I think McCain is my second.

"The object of war is not to die for your country, but to make the other bastard die for his."
-General George S. Patton

He explains quite succinctly why McCain is not a conservative.

Republican? Yes.

Conservative? No.

At least that's how I see it on my blog. With Romney about to blown out in NH, Fred is the only remaining choice for strong conservatives.

Rudy, Mitt, Huck, and I am sure that McCain has got the message before he retires to a nursing home called the Capital Building; and anyone else who wants to try to infect our party with liberal ideals.....NO MORE RINOS! You will not be given cover to hide and then side with liberals on anything in this party! Liberalism is a abyssmal failure each and everytime someone try's to use that philosophy to govern. People are finally understanding how horrible liberals are when they look at all of the proof that they have laid out before us; in Detroit and most of Michigan, in Baltimore and most of Maryland, in S.F. (there is where we need to build a fence!!), in Atlanta, New Orleans, Boston and all of Mass etc... Nevermind the ideology, look at the results; how many high school dropouts, how many violent crimes? Detroit and Baltimore were 1 & 2 this year in murder so with those grand results year in and year out Maryland is going to follow Corzine and NJ legislature and repeal the death sentence. Katrina aftermath was entirely about liberal failures to society; when the people you govern are sooo dependant that they cant even get out of the way of a cat4 hurricane without govt.? Maryland had a Special Session that is now in courts over its legaliity, that session was specifically and only to raise taxes. It took them 30 minutes to raise 2B in new taxes including a 20% increase in sales tax; and they arent finished. Liberals love to tax. Liberals have success "As long as we have the power to tax"

We have way too many good reasons to completely reject liberalism and just as many more for not letting them dump into our party!!

Enough is enough should be the Conservative battle cry. We are the big tent party but we have guard rails against liberalism!!

GO FRED more money on the way brother! Fight hard with tough factual rhetoric; they "cant handle the truth."

But seeing as how the GOP caved or catered to pretty much every liberal idea Bush came up with or endorsed (excluding immigration) it is hard to see this trend stopping in our party. The GOP only finds its conservative legs when its a Democrat president or Congress bringing up liberal policy ideas.

In fact, seeing as how well Huck and McCain are doing it looks like its only going to stay the same or get worse.

I hate to say it - but Reagan might be the only movement conservative president of our lifetime.

The great folks in the Palmetto State need to be reminded of the following items per John McCain, and while I know they are friends and he will nto go negative on John, he MUST positively point out the following:

Voted against Bush tax cuts
Gang of 14
Close Guantanano
Stop Waterboarding, its torture
COMPREHENSIVE IMMIGRATION REFORM- McAmnesty
Treating opposition to CIR as non-patriots and racists, ask John Cornyn, who got a F___ You from Johnnie Boy
Numerous, numerous times he has slapped Conservatives in the face

Fred can still retain his class and dignity but he has to highlight thess things. I guarantee McAmnesty is going to go after Fred if he sees him as a threat, which he is

erp

If he were a real patriot, McCain would threw his support to Thompson.

Not from there myself, but does a win there garner any momentum? What is Fred doing there? I read an article that said he and Romney have the best shot at a win there. Romney is sending in some of this sons to campaign and Ron Paul is buying newspaper ads. Hope Fred can stop by himself. How much would that really cost, and how much attention would it play in the state itself?

New Hampshire may be the first primary, but Wyoming is the next caucus (this Saturday/tomorrow no less). I am expecting a great showing by Fred at the debates this weekend in NH, but certainly not expecting a win there since, lets be honest, they don't like him there. The roundtable debate Fox is putting on should play into his strengths.

I heard that Liz Cheney is advising Fred on Foreign Policy issues (namely Near and Middle East affairs); that has to be good for Fred in Wyoming?

2008; Its about a Commander In Chief!

Also, deserved or not, Iowa and New Hampshire have the patina of representing a broad cross-section of the U.S., so they are regarded as barometers of things to come. Wyoming on the other hand is a solidly conservative state.

I wish it were possible for a true conservative to get a bounce out of Wyoming, it just won't happen.

are flying everywhere about everyone, and from what I've seen, nearly all of them are planted by people whose candidate isn't as good as mine. ;D

Fred specifically refuted yesterday's rumor about him dropping out, and I think most of the stories about him supporting McCain were tied into that fallacious report. Since Fred and JM are widely understood to be personal friends, that was perhaps mere speculation on some rumormonger's part.

I've long understood SC to be Fred's first potential pivot point, so I'm pretty sure nobody with any real info expects him to change course before then. The campaign also noted yesterday that they're not broke, refuting another piece of unfounded gossip. They've taken in around 2 mil since Christmas, IIRC.

Jeremiah 17:9.

Thompson supporters are deluding themselves if they think FT is going to take S. Carolina.

At best he will finish 3rd and more likely he will finish 4th. Fred will not win a single primary and his star has been descending since October.

Keyes, Hunter, & Tancredo should go ahead and drop out of the race now.

After SC Thompson should too !!
