Giuliani scores another big Florida endorsement!

Rudy Giuliani today secured his most important nomination to date this afternoon: that of New York Yankees LF/DH/CF Johnny Damon.
Once famous for his “Christ-like” look during his tenure with the Red Sox, the longtime bearded Damon went clean-shaven to comply with Yankee’s strict policy on facial hair.
Giuliani -- a Yankees fan since his boyhood in Brooklyn -- has pledged that if he becomes president, he will invite the Yankees to the White House pending a future World Series win.
Well, it was a fellow named Ryan Corso (of CBS News) who compared Damon to Jesus. Perhaps he aspires to be like Newsweek mag's Jon Meacham, who likes to invent religions and call them "Christianity." (See also HERE, and Google it.)

Ryan Corso also brings up the Damon-led Red Sox' 2004 World Championship, so it seems he's a fan. He might be torn that Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling has endorsed John McCain.
I don't know which member of the Boston Red Sox supports the team's former governor, Mitt Romney. Perhaps it is pitcher Jon Lester, who is not the Jon Lester who has been a part of our RedState community, but one never knows until he says something.
The question now is, how will the Damon endorsement affect Rudy's chances in Florida (or nationwide)? Said Damon in Orlando:
“He made New York closer. He made America closer, and he’s going to make this country a better place. America’s mayor. The next president of the United States, Rudy Giuliani,” Damon said, introducing the candidate.
Indeed, but the Yankees' closer is the great Mariano Rivera. If Rudy (or Mitt) could get Mo's endorsement, 't would be quite a coup, given that Rivera is a citizen of Panama (I like using the word "coup" in the same sentence as the name "Panama.")
Call me when A-Rod endorses.

So when is the Rocket going to endorse Rudy?
Maybe the Rocket could work a deal out with Rudy. Something along the line of a Presidential pardon in exchange for working real hard on the campaign trail, or maybe taking Chuck out for a demonstration of high and tight throwing.
