GOP v. Dems

Matthews has asked some of the most worthless questions of any debate moderator ever -- including the "should Bill Clinton be back in the White House?" WTF type of question is that to ask at a GOP debate? What the hell?
Please notice that the Democrats ran and hid from Fox News and the GOP has graciously subjected itself to a moderator who was grew up in politics as a partisan Democratic political hack and a network that airs Keith Olberman.
Oh, and now we get to watch Keith and Chris provide their commentary about how worthless the GOP is.

Oh how I longed for a serious moderator like Brit Hume to ask serious questions.
Why in the world did they have Chris Matthews moderating this instead of Tim Russert???? I'm guessing it has something to do with Matthews' horrible ratings and NBC trying to get him some more viewers. It was a horribly moderated debate. I couldn't believe some of the questions he asked and for them to be ARGUING with the candidates? Come on.
It'll be fascinating to listen to the Drive Bys tomorrow trying to tell US what's wrong with OUR party
you'll probably see quotes from OUR candidates in response to Chris' stupid a*& questions that make Bush look bad.
"Cowards cut and run, Marines never do"
of the candidates will be much easier for an adversarial press to exploit out of context than full explanations of the candidates position.

much better in South Carolina. The HinzSight Report has a team with credentials in hand head to that one! They are even doing a conference call with attending reporters with Brit Hume prior to the debate for a Q & A.
Brit, I am sure, won't be asking any of these ridiculous questions.
GC tells me he can't make it. Ken Taylor and 3 other writers and on professional amature photographer are attending.

and had the disappearance of Chandra Levy their major story the day before.
Their minds are mush.
Their questions stank.
The model in front of the PC taking online questions was exuding that "don't I look good on TV" look and possibly thinking when he can boot Brian Williams when he gets more wrinkled.
The artificial time limits on top of the stupid questions made everything worse.
I think the candidates did OK. I understand Ron Paul and Tom Tancredo better, but why on earth were they there?
In terms of the "oomph" factor, I was pleasantly surprised by Hunter and Brownback. Romney is a quick study. Rudy, McCain and Gilmore were OK. Was not impressed at all by Huckabee.
i had a feeling it would be that way. i watched mid way through and it wasnt that bad so i stuck around.. then it got bad with the moonbat questions.
GOP candidates should ditch msnbc after this. period.
and no, i didnt watch either mouth piece for the democratic party afterward.

The MSM will bury this gracious act of the Republicans, and the chicken-hearted act of the Dems, with their silence. Expect little or no mention in their reporting. They simply never happened.
Like, what happened with 200+ Swift Boat vets gathered to publicly denounce John Kerry. The MSM smothered that event as well. (Meanwhile, "Appeal for Redress" gets on 60 Minutes).

What a stupid hateful question from Politico's liberal clientele, I thought the big winner was Duncan Hunter and the big loser was Rudy. I agree that the Dems are wussies for not showing up for FOX and do we really want any of that weakness in the White House, of course not. I say all of those candidates need to be commended for going into the belly of the beast of liberalism with the liberals top "news" man, Chrissy Matthews, oh and how great was it to see Gilmore kick Chrissy to the curb with the Rove question, simply beautiful:-)
Peace through superior fire power:)
before every statement? lol
on the Republicans. Rather than being a debate between them, it was a "defend your party" evening.
Matthews really mucked it up. Olbermann would have made a better moderator. CNN would have been a better host.
As for the debate, and although I don't support either of them, I think the clear winners were Brownback and Romney. Both were impressive in their own ways. Rep. Hunter also did well.
The only candidate who may have hurt himself was Sen. McCain, despite MSNBC's spin. He really looked spent and is a horrible speaker in that format.
The others really didn't break out or trip up.
I hope all ten get another chance at a better forum with a better moderator.
That after all the hand wringing about how we didn't have any decent candidates I was pleasantly surprised how awesome our pool of candidates were. I found myself even liking McCain. I think we have a great group of candidates.
My new Rankings
1. Romney (still)
2. Gilmore
3. McCain (cant believe I am even listing him in my top 9)
4. Rudy
There might be room for F. Thompson as 4 if he ever decides to run.
T. Thompson has just dropped to the bottom of my list.

Giuliani's invincibility causes his opponents to believe that he did bad, when in fact he stood out among the crowd, by being reasonable and tolerant towards women's rights.
i think there is a bit of jealousy among those who say he did bad in the debate.
He answered his critics who say he has no foregin policy experience. ( the shia vs shite question) and he did what a leader should do. Be under control and not make any huge mistakes.
at some point. What a stupid question: Would you pardon Scooter Libby? Bizarre to the point of psychotic.

I learned that McCain is still 100% incompetent when it comes to open borders policy, and that most of the other candidates are semi-reasonable GOP nominees unlike John McCain, Democrat in disguise.
I'd vote Hillary before I would vote McCain, and I mean that.
