Hillary Wants to Raise Taxes And Ruin Economy to Pay for Healthcare. (Deja Vu all over again)

There can be no doubt about it. Her husband says he wants to slow it down to fight global warming and Hillary herself now admits she wants to garnish wages or something equivalent to pay for her allegedly $110 billion healthcare scheme.

And let's be on point here -- there has yet to be a healthcare system that has come in at projections. All of them have exceeded budget projections, so her $110 billion is probably around $300 billion.

From This Week with George Stephanopolous today, Hillary had to be asked the question three times in a row to get her to answer.

STEPHANOPOULOS: Will you have fines for people who don't have health care, who don't go by the mandate? Will you garnish their wages?

STEPHANOPOULOS: Let me interrupt you there. … I still haven't heard if people can afford it and they don't buy the insurance will their wages be garnished? Will they have to pay fines?

STEPHANOPOULOS: I want to bear down on this question one more time…. Will you garnish wages of people who don't comply, don't buy the insurance?

SEN. CLINTON: George, we will have an enforcement mechanism. Whether it's that or it's some other mechanism through the tax system or automatic enrollments.

Think it will ruin the economy more that McCain-Lieberman? Tough call.

That seems like the beginning of a quantifiable question. Take CATO and ClubForGrowth for research. Maybe factor in immigration question. Which would cost the economy more, Clinton or McCain. Could be a compelling blog entry. (I'm not much on compiling research, all my emails about Juan Hernandez have gone unanswered.)

Still, that could be useful. Adam C is a great researcher, you guys could collaborate.

Just a thought.

Not today absentee. I will not be deprived of one of the few pleasures associated with living in Massachusetts - The New England Patriots.

You mean the cheaters. Hey, maybe we can get an asterisk next to all of their Super Bowl championships. That way people can remember that they cheat to win.

If this doesn't alarm you, nothing will. The woman is intent on burying this country in socialistic programs, this is just one of them. Let's not ask her how much of the budget will be dedicated to entitlements after she's done, unless we've got the stomach to stand the answer.

That's why I should do what Talk Show Entertainers and someone who sells polemics for a living and vote for Hilary because that evil John McCain is just like her!!

Let's not worry our heads thinking on the issues. The 'leaders of the conservative movement' have spoken from their broadcast booths and TV studios. Who are we to think differently, or even think at all?

Can you be educated on the issues a tad bit more, or are you immune to more thinking?

I admit I haven't read the details of Hillarycare 2008. (I'm just relying on my assumption that I won't like it...and I feel pretty secure in the belief that that's a valid assumption).

But, it strikes me that requiring people to have affirmative plans for health insurance isn't a bad thing. I favor putting the burden on the individual, rather than on the business or some other entity. Citizens in this country are responsible for seeing to their own well being, wherever and whenever possible. To me, that means finding a job that can pay for your health care coverage.

What say you? What's the drawback to compelling the able-bodied to take care of their own health care needs?

Personally, I think some provision like this should be part of any GOP health care reform. If you can work, you should be expected to take care of your own health care needs.

Hillary is the true conservative in this race.

McCain and Carbon taxes, illegal immigration, etc. It could be a tough call. At least with a Democrat in office, Repubicans might stand up against her, if its McCain, it may be Kum-Ba-Ya, and lets all raise carbon taxes together.

Ann was recently dumped by her Democratic operative boy friend. This new found support of Hillary is just a way for her to get invited to Democratic party fund raisers and parties so she can meet new Democratic guys. Who knows she might like Democratic boy toys or something now that she's getting a bit older.

Now that is an extremely sexist remark that republicans do without. Do always make such execuses for those who you don't agree with.

Before that he was putting us some descent content. Shame.

Go ahead, make your jokes, Mr. Jokey... Joke-maker. But let me hit you with some knowledge. Quit now.

After a statement like this, anyone right of Hillary herself should be eager to cast a vote for anyone opposing such a travesty.

I heard that.

Black is white, Right is Left and Right is wrong. Yet 1 more reason to ignore anything Coulter has to say.

This is one giant step in the direction of socialism, and we all know how successful that's been. Ugh..

Courage becomes a living and an attractive virtue when it is regarded not only as a willingness to die manfully, but also as a determination to live decently.

By all means, some kind of enforcement provision, Hillary will be good at that if nothing else. Automatic enrollment, does a slight chill run down your back, do you pause to wonder what other "automatic" actions and programs might lay on the horizon.

Federal garnishee's, the potential for both damaged personal credit and other inventive intrusions, for the national interest and the common good, present themselves for depressing consideration.

The last time Hillary bumbled her way into a health care morass she didn't comprehend, the NY Times reported just after the monster was released that penalties ran to ten years in the cooler for those attempting to evade or avoid the strictures. Yeah, Hillary understands enforcement.

And Senator George Mitchell knew the benefits of erasers and fast rewrites.

Erick, I hope your opening --

"There can be no doubt about it. Her husband says he wants to slow it down [the economy] to fight global warming..."

-- is meant as some kind of tongue-in-cheek jab at WJC. If not, it is as dishonest as anything I've read in a long, long time.

There is plenty to argue with in his statement, but no serious person can interpret what he says in this clip as a call to slow down our economy to curb climate change.

For anyone interested in what Clinton really said --

Clinton's statement

Note to hyper-partisans: I'm not defending Clinton; I'm trying to defend the truth, however unpopular that may be. If Clinton needs defending, he can get a lawyer.
