I have another question about Obama and the New Party

The more you dig in to this, the more troubling it becomes.

In the 1996 election for the Illinois State Senate, Obama was running in a four way primary.

To make up ground, and pay attention here, to make up ground he sought the New Party endorsement as well. In that way, Obama calculated that he could get the Democratic left and the hard left to support him.

But Obama was running against Alice Palmer -- she was already hardcore left. So, and again pay attention, Obama *went to the left* of a hard core leftist to win. That's what he did by seeking the New Party endorsement.

Now here is where it gets interesting. At the beginning of 1996, Obama was able to get all of his opponents thrown off the ballot.

Mr. Hope and Change used the brass knuckles and ran uncontested as the Democratic nominee.

We've already established that the New Party had, by 1996, become the party of the hardcore leftist radicals -- an amalgamation of communists, socialist, and other reds — in other words, not something acceptable to mainstream America.

Why then, if he then did not need the New Party's support, did he keep up the relationship?

Freedom of Religion NOT Freedom from Religion

type much...obviously not!

Freedom of Religion NOT Freedom from Religion

I harbor no illusions, no expectations that the MSM will even mention this, let alone investigate. They are totally, and without even the pretense of objectivity, in the bag for the far left. This country is in B-I-G trouble.

I've been reading and hearing some real disturbing things about the old radicals coming out of the woodwork, they are banking on this guy. Senator McCain has a lot of material to use if he would just use it. Meanwhile, over at Kos, I'm reading of college students sharpening their resumes so they can innundate the new Obama administration with job requests. What is it about Marxism that is so glamorous to these people?

What the hell is going on out here? - Vince Lombardi

Usually they have more than one candidate and pretend to count the votes. His way is much more honest.

"Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom must, like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it."

Coming out of the Chicago political machine certainly has some foundations as to his leftist leanings, yet I am too concerned as to the reasoning behind the New Party association. Certainly we can assume that Obama, in his past (and present) associations with extreme leftists, Ayers, Wright, Pfelger etc. has captivated his ideals towards The New Party ideals. As we look to Obama for answers the why, perhaps isn;t as complex as we want it to be; Obama is profoundly an inexperienced and depending how far we want to take it, quite naive.

I point to Obama's frequent gaffes, misstatements and plain expectation that he is, likely a result of his easy past electoral races, untouchable. Certainly the relatively few skeletons in his closet have come to light, and in every case he has supported them. I look at this as less a man of character then a militant protecting his compatriots.

I'm no believer in Obama as some Marxist Manchurian Candidate, but we must accept, based on his massive lack of history that Obama may present a new standard for the extreme left. This standard perhaps is capable of such a meteoric rise based solely on his oratory skills, his skin color and as a "fresh" commodity. Hence, by attaching himself, knowingly or not to the fusion principals, a belief of his own superiority can be realized while advancing his leftist ideology.

I think we've been confident for a while now that Obama will be the Democratic nominee. Up to this point the pugilism has been with kid gloves. Hillary has been apprehensive to pull out the big guns for fear that that Obama will fire back, but when the campaigning for the general election begins I think and hope that John McCain will expose Barack Obama for what he really is.

And since you ask, Obama is a far left nut. I think that he is a socialist and a Marxist. To top it off I believe that he is indignant toward white conservative Americans. In all honesty, does anyone believe that he knew Jeremiah Wright for over twenty years and had no idea that the man was preaching hate and anti-white racism? If Barack Obama aligns himself with even one-tenth of one percent of what Jeremiah Wrong, I mean Wright was preaching, then I fear for the future, because this unqualified and inexperienced man has a good shot to become President of the United States of America.

While I think this is a legitimate issue, the question is this: Will it matter? Here at Redstate you are speaking to the choir. With a candidate that seems unwilling to forcefully attack his opponent, and with an electorate that seems to have shifted some, this issue is irrelevant. No one is going to care except those who already plan to vote against the guy. After all, is it really that surprising that a Democrat candidate tried pandering (or worse) to the wacko, socialist left?

We are not speaking to the choir: we are speaking to members of many different choirs - and, here and there, a choir director or two.

The Fuzzy Puppy of the VRWC. I've been usurped!

There is also the fact that knowing more about Obama concerning his past and present associations just gives us more ammunition when trying to convert others to vote for McCain.

I for one am forwarding Erick's blogs to everyone I know.
