I second Jim Geraghty on the Obama Ineligibility Rule

And move to call for the previous question.

Permit me to propose a new rule: If your mentor of 20 years has ever declared the United States to be ‘the same as al-Qaeda, under a different color flag, calling on the name a different God to sanction and approve our murder and our mayhem!’ you are ineligible for the Presidency.

All those in favor, signify by saying "Aye".

The motion is agreed to and this is an open thread for your discussion of the same or other matters.

You should be ineligible.

I'll leave it open as to who is losing the Dem popular vote, its arguable on so many levels.

It's a shame that so many people are so quick to dismiss Rev. Wright as a fanatic without really listening to his whole sermon. With so many blacks sharing the same views, you would think that people would stop and take a closer look at why blacks feel whites are out to get them. Just look at things like The Plexus Agenda by Andre Lewis, Tuskegee Syphilis Study, Jim Crow laws, Jena Six, Katrina, and you will realize what Rev. Wright is saying is true.

I am apparently insufficiently informed on these matters.

Perhaps it's because they listen to community leaders that spew hatred of America and that white folks are the devil?

Are you suggesting that conservative voices like Rush and O'Reilly and Falwell and Hagee don't spew hatred? Is hatred the sole province of black folks or liberals?

...cheap cigar, beat-up car, nice guitar.....

The folks you have mentioned are NOT associated with the McCain campaign in any way.

Except for Hagee, and even he was never McCain's pastor and mentor, as Reverend Wright was Obama's pastor and mentor for the last 20 years. By Obama's own words, Reverend Wright meant as much to him as his own grandmother. I doubt Bill O'Reilly means that much to McCain.

If you can find examples of "hate" spewed by someone whom you can prove was McCain's mentor, please post them here.

Slim Chance.

1. First you have to present evidence a vague accusation with substantiation just doesn't cut. It says a lot about you that you felt it would be fine to just toss out names and squeal see they hate.

2. Please tell me how others supposed bad behavior excuses the good Rev Wright ?

Or is it your position if enough people do something its fine ?

3. Who has claimed this is the sole province of anyone ?? Come on that's just you projecting onto the site.

4. Just how does Rush, Oreilly and Falwell relate to McCain ?? Last time I checked Rush is against him O'Reilly is taking an independent position and Falwell was talking about backing a third party candidate.

Thank you for playing

Perhaps you will do better next time.

I mean, we're not the ones who put Senator Obama where he is, or made him who he is. And we're not the ones who threaten to break your heart...

and oh by the way our candidate did not sit and listen to Falwell and Hagee for 20 years and use his words for his book now did he? NOPE...and our candidate is not a favorite of Rush....so unless you have something more substantial I suggest you have a Slim Chance of staying around!

I am saying outright that what ever Rush, Hannity, Savage et. al. say about an opponent, they do so from the standpoint as a political adversary, not as a race baiting, down with America (so called) man of god.

Obama has not distanced himself from Wright, and openly supports the church and the man. In my book that is synonymous with agreeing with that persons statements, positions and ideals. Which others here have better stated, makes him an unacceptable option for America.

On the other hand, I just don;t want a socialist elected into any public office because those ideals don;t mimic mine. So even if Obama had no association with Wright or Ayers, or Rezco (sp) or soft on gang crime, or lying to people about trade agreements just for votes etc.

I forgot to end it with I would never vote for him, but I'm sure that was implied.

you might take the time to inform yourself about the Jena Six and Katrina.

"If we want to take this party back, and I think we can someday, let’s get to work." – Barry Goldwater

He noted that Wright was complaining - and rightly so - that his comments were taken out of context. So Hugh got two of his sermons in question in their entirity and played them so "the context" of Wright's remarks would be clear.

You can listen here...

You will- if you have half a brain and any capacity to reason - note that Wright's remarks in context are infinitely more damning than the clips.

The man is a hatefilled, venomous serpent who doesn't deserve to be spit on, let alone accorded any veracity for his remarks. Posting rules forbid me from a more accurate description of the man or his remarks.

I would have one question of Obama at this point. If he is elected, would he invite his "pastor" to speak at his inauguration?

90s that Bill Clinton as pres and head of the dems, and me, as a dem party leader, were WORSE than the extremists as being a frontman for the kooks makes them more palatable and gives their kookiness power.

So it is right for the NC GOP to question the judgment of dem party guv nominees that endorse Obama.

The fact is that the judgment of anyone that remains a dem after all they have said and done to embolden our enemies for 30+ years should ve questioned on tv with the words of the kooks they protect.

"God damn America"???

America is "the same as al-Qaeda, under a different color flag"???

YOU mentioned the Tuskegee Syphilis Study.

But Reverend Wright mentioned al-Qaeda and equated America to it.

Evidently you believe that the sad history of blacks in America in the past somehow justifies any kind of paranoia or anti-Americanism on their part today. That's known as a "non sequitur."

and don't forget that guy in Texas who shot two black men robbing his neighbors! And Rodney King! And O.J.! And the black guy is always the first to die in horror movies! And...

You know, if you really wanted to make a legitimate point with something like Jim Crow laws, you probably shouldn't have followed it with Jena Six or Katrina which are as related to racism as the Duke Lacrosse players are.

And Slim, you seem to know so much about Rush. Did you hear his racist rantings on March 18th, 2008*? He was frothing at the mouth!

*please don't sue me for copyright violations, Rush.

"Hey, I call 'em like I see 'em. I'm a whale biologist."

If not for the SwiftVets Kerry would be President today. Hopefully some group will stand and make an issue out of THE issue: BO's judgement & character.
