It Begins

Now that John McCain is going to be the Republican nominee for President, the Democratic National Committee has prepared various lines of attack that are designed to cut them down to size. However, as Winston Churchill might have said, the DNC's charges are unfortunate in their inability to coincide with the truth.

Another triumph for the "reality-based community," which will doubtless warn about "swiftboating" once it finishes repeating these very discredited charges.

Perhaps this will show McCain who are his true friends, on whom he may count? Perhaps the "famous" McCain temper can be used profitably toward those of the statist mindset? I've often posted that the attacks from the democrats & moveon.org types kept Bush 43 on his toes & prevented a new tone driven single term.

Huckabee must be perceived as a threat too. Check out tonight's CBS news. They have a disgusting slander piece up for Huckabee. Making people afraid, be very afraid of those wicked evangelical televangelists.

Read between the lines of the story. "Pastors are giving money to Huckabee, who's going to impose a theocracy. It's a conspiracy! They're going to take over the world! We, the noble msm MUST STOP THEM! Lions and tigers and evangelists, oh my!"

Allegations, insinuations, accusations, whispers of scandal. CBS News Investigates, yeah right, no surprise this is the network of Rathergate.

And, by the way, I'm no fan of Kenneth Copeland, but about this Senate investigation? Since when is it the federal government's job to investigate a church's financial records. Isn't there something somewhere about the separation of church and state - or does that only work one way?

is nothing but lefty conspiracy mongers. Nothing more, nothing less.

The media holds Obama up as the a flawless, perfect candidate, even though his ideas are in no way mainstream! Since when did we become so hypnotized by a good speech and forget about ideas. Check out this video attack ad on Obama, I think you will find it interesting!
http://youtube.com/watch?v=ywhZFjb_lng --> For the first time someone decided to raise a question or two..Like why doesnt Obama vote on anything in the Senate!

from Howard "EYAAAARRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHH" Dean? Democrats are liars, how else do you explain any of their electoral success? If Americans know the truth about Democrats then any reasonable voter would immediately turn the other way and vote Republican. For Dems the truth hurts.

hopemeanstruth,

Obama is an empty suit, even my Democratic-leaning wife realizes that and has said she will not vote for him under any circumstance. Under a real, hard-nosed general election campaign his weaknesses and vapid, empty words will be exposed and revealed to the American public.

The Swiftboaters told the truth about Kerry, so the media must discredit the phrase and redefine it as a smear campaign. It would be to McCain's benefit if he, not the media, not the DNC brings up the rumors and dispels them, thus taking them out of play.

What concerns me, is the amount of right-of-center folks who are using that phrase "swiftboating" to describe efforts of sabotaging someone's efforts.
Instead of using the term as it should be applied: presenting evidence to discredit lies being sold as fact.

Maybe McCain can start by apologizing for defaming the Swifties .

Hypocrites.

They're just waiting for us to decide so they can start smearing...

1. McCain, 2. Thompson, 3. Giuliani, 4. Romney

is the Democrat's nominee, we can at least stop worrying about attacks regarding temperament and ethics.

You can't afford the price of free corn.

The will be happy to attack anyone in their way about anything, regardless of hypocrisy. One year before the largest tax increase in history, Bush 41 was attacked for raising taxes - not just breaking a promise to not raise taxes. Remember the BS about "middle class tax cut???"

Better strategy is to feed these sorts of things to the lazy press just prior to critical junctures. The press doesn't bother to check the facts and does significant damage.

This will give the McCain campaign enough time to correct the damage and they will need new material later.

What? No more warm and fuzzy protraits of the ole grandfatherly maverick lecturing the radical right. No more Time and Newsweek front page hagiographies. No more love from the MSM news teams. You got to be kidding. At least with Romney all the dirt was already onteh table. This is going to get real interesting.
