Lefties get angry as Obama exposes his confused self

The pied piper of Chicago is losing his musical pipe.

Obama became a multi-millionaire in campaign cash via the money page at MyBarackObama.com. Now, the Chicago Tribune reports, there has been a rebellion.

Amid criticism from the left that he has eased toward the center on a number of issues in recent weeks, the presumptive Democratic nominee has angered some of his most ardent supporters while triggering something of an online mutiny. Thousands are using MyBarackObama.com to angrily organize against him because of a changed position on terrorist wiretap legislation that awaits Senate action as early as Wednesday.

I took a look, and it is almost wholly dross, but this bit from a commenter calling himself Enrique seemed to strike a rational version of the prevailing tone in Obama-ville:

Read On…

This is the title of an op ed piece in "The Oregonian" by Rich Lowry, 7/8/08 [x]. I hope Mr Obama or at least his staff keeps track of it. I for one am one who wants to believe. However, as the mentioned piece points out, Barack seems to be flip-flopping big time. What about telling the truth, ending 'politics as usual'; "triangulation" etc. I would appreciate that at the very least Barack's team has filed all his public pronouncements so far in the campaign and use that as parameter for present and future pronouncements. I do not mind a REASONED explanation of why Barack has changed his position, as nothing is written in stone. But I take offense at smuggling new positions as if they had always been Mr Obama's. Case in point, public financing; case in point: what is this of advocating tax dollars to fund faith-based education initiatives? Give me a break! leave that to Mc Cain! [bold added]

Barry is wandering off the lunatic reservation, or at least taking a new tack when he talks, but Enrique is clinging to his belief in Obama. He "wants to believe" that Obama is the answer to his slightly kooky political whims and desires.

Will these folks stick by Obama when it becomes more and more clear that he is not what he has said he was? Will these folks continue to donate their money to a hope for change when that hope has been killed by the man trying to sell it in the first place?

Whether or not the emperor has clothes is a moot debate when the pied piper is losing his musical pipe.

Please, who else will they vote for? Stalin and Marx are dead.

At best these folks won't vote. Beyond that, they will hold their noses and push the button with their pitchforks.

Money doesn't grow on trees,

But babies come from ladies."

Pay close attention to that last line before you flip again, Barry.

Neville would approve!

I played in bands that covered The English Beat and The Specials. Those guys were post-racial when Obama was popping zits. They were also a nice alternative to the pseudo-intellectual commie posturing of The Clash.

I am a cynic when it comes to Obama's left wing supporters being angry and organizing against him. As previous posters have stated - - who would they vote for? Nader's crazy and Jimmy Carter isn't available. Manipulation of the masses from the left is part of the game.

The fact that Obama doesn't seem to care where he takes his stand on a daily basis says volumes about his honesty and integrity. The old adage: ' you know he's not tellig the truth, because his lips are moving' seems to apply well here.

“Political language. . . is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind.” George Orwell

Yeah, but isn't Nader THEIR kind of Crazy?

His statements that he most admires Justices Souter, Ginsburg and Breyer? Has he stated he regretted voting against Alito and Roberts? I think not.
This is a huge smokescreen. Obama knows these issues he is "moving to the center" on, i.e. church-state, homosexual marriage, gun rights and the death penalty will be taken care of by his judicial nominees.
Even if the Dems pick-up 20 more House seats and a half-dozen Senate seats, there still will not be enough votes to overturn DOMA (as Obama whispers he supports overturning), there still will not be enough votes to overturn the death penalty legislatively or ban gun ownership legislatively. The only issue that 20 more House and 6 more Senate seats will probably provide is cutting off the faith based funding and no one believes Obama will actually champion that issue as President and if he does he will require these faith based groups to embrace homosexuality.
Again, IT'S THE JUDGES! and on that issue Obama is lock-step with the loony left.

Apparently this isn't the same Obama that his supporters knew for so long.

He has campaigned on the idea of moving past partisanship and representing all Americans.

Now that he actually is starting to do that, they are freaking out.

"Broadly speaking, liberalism emphasizes individual rights and equality of opportunity. ... including extensive freedom of thought and speech, limitations on the power of governments, the rule of law, the free exchange of ideas, a market or mixed economy,

Yes, Obama is working on making a set of statements defining his policy positions such that every American can find one statement on each issue that he or she can agree with. I guess that's his idea of bringing America together.

The minor problem, though, is that these statements all logically contradict each other. Obama's solution is to suspend the laws of time and space so that they can coexist simultaneously until the election. That is, to simply deny that there are any contradictions.

After the elections, they will collapse into whatever his advisors come up with. Since they are left-wing extremists, that gives us a good idea of where he'll head.

And Rightly So!

Obama, like Hillary before him, is Forgainst anything you're Forgainst.

But he's much better than she is because he looks better in swimming trunks.

The definition of Obama's "moving beyond partisanship" and to a large degree the argument of the recent phenomenon of the left-wing "evangelicals" is thus: let's start with everyone must accept, embrace and dignify the homosexual lifestyle and accept abortion on demand....ok, now that those parameters are set....let's move beyond partisanship.

Well, if everyone just agreed with Obama, there'd be no more conflict.

So we'll just all agree with Obama.

What? You don't agree with Obama? That's ok, we'll just destroy you.

Ahh.... Utopia through oppression.

Well, it's not like that hasn't been tried before.

BTW would you care to learn the precise moment in time that amorphous notions which we call left wing coalesced into the sort of ideology that would bring on modern liberalism? I think I pinpointed it.

H G Well's book "Men like Gods" It is true that all the ideas in that book had been floating around, but Wells, being a gifted, if somewhat silly, novelist was able to put it all together. He dreamed up an idealistic society where all the people who believed in war, capital punishment, profit, and of course religion were "reeducated". And Utopia ensued.

The left have been trying to create this ever since.

You know, I'd like to see a picture of Obama, smug look on his face, with the words "Say Hello to Big Brother" below.

However, if I made such a picture, I'd likely get trashed as a racist.

Now with Obama backing the FISA bill his leftest loons are coming up for fresh air. Even Obama insn't the Obama he remembers. Now if they would just look at the rest of his facist or "progressive" ideas.

The left is crying over Obama's flexibilty

Here's what I thought about it all the day before yesterday..
