I don't want to fill up the front page with these Fred Thompson YouTube clips, but I can't resist this one. He makes a profoundly good point about Hillary Clinton's healthcare proposal. He says, "What is it that makes Liberals think that the best way to help somebody is to punish them?"

Why do liberals believe in punishment as motivator? For the same reason they believe in coercion, and the two are linked.
It helps if you have an aggressive, hostile personality, like Hillary, America's nasty schoolmarm.

He just needs to transfer this same coolness and wit when giving formal speeches and he will stop all the talk that he does not know all the facts or he is a lackluster hopeful.
It is these kinds of talks Americans connect with and undercuts the dems.

Fred obviously never has asked a liberal what he or she thought about mandatory drug sentences, or someone who cannot or will not hold a job due to drug or alcohol use.
...please try to stay on topic.
You do understand what this post is talking about, don't you?

I was trying -- apparently unsuccessfully -- to be humorous but also to make a relevant point: Liberals tend to be too quick to relieve individuals of the consequences of their choices. Those choices may include not to purchase health insurance, even if that choice may be perfectly rational for someone like a healthy 22 year old who likely won't visit a doctor for several years. If someone can afford health insurance but chooses to go without, let him or her live with that choice.

but pretty fluffy. More specifics, Fred, and stop yankin on those ears!

While I agree with most everyone when they say Fred needs to get specific about his platform, I think he needs to continue these little, short digs at the Dems, especially Hillary. Fact is, they are witty and profoundly insightful. Go Fred Go!
