I don't believe this was commented on yet though it was on yesterday's news. The Marine Poet, Staff Sergeant Lawrence Dean, became semi-famous earlier this year due a YouTube video of him rapping about his service and veterans' service overall. He revealed to Shepard Smith last night that he plans to re-enlist in February. This statement came after Smith brought up the many job offers -- including a record deal -- Dean has received since his surprising fame. I can only say -- Wow. And thank you. Here's the clip:

I'm an active duty Marine Master Sergeant with 19 years of service. I turned in my request for retirement last week and if approved will be retiring in December 2008.
I know with men and women like SSgt Dean (and there are thousands of them) coming up in the ranks after me, that I'll be leaving the Corps in very good hands indeed.
Semper Fi Staff Sergeant Dean!
Can't say enough good about this fellow American. Thanks so much. Treasure does not do him justice...
Semper Fi...Marine!
Formally known as Deagle... "Golf is a way of life..."
I did see the interview, but only watched the u-tube today.
Forget Maya Angelou ... Sgt. Dean ought to be Poet Laureate. His words are powerful.

These men and women are our national treasure. The sheep dogs protecting the sheep from tne wolves. God bless each and every one.
