Obama, 100 Years, and a lack of foreign policy experience

Obama, having equated a standing military presence with being at war, has shined the spotlight at his own inept lack of foreign policy experience. Of course he is now claiming a mysterious trip to Pakistan a long time ago that he's never before mentioned, including in the books he's written. Gary Varvelsums it all up nicely:
Someone still needs to ask Obama if he thinks we're at war with Japan and Germany. After all, he's the one who decided McCain's willingness to keep American bases in Iraq is equal to being at war for 100 years in Iraq.

Did you not see "Charlie Wilson's War"? Pakistan was on OUR side then, as it was during the entire Cold War!

It just isn't. The media does McCain a disservice when they summarize him that way.
His military service is commendable, but really, neither flying over a foreign country nor being tortured by a foreign country gives him any more experience dealing with world leaders and organizations than some tourist or a guy working at a Taco Bell.
McCain has been in the Senate for roughly a gazillion years, why can't the media actually take the time to look at what he did when he was in the Senate, and what is relevant.
(It's as stupid as the claim that Hillary Clinton has foreign policy experience because snipers shot at her, Sinbad and Sheryl Crow -- even had the sniper story not been a complete lie, being shot at by foreigners isn't foreign policy experience)
It would have been more relevant to mention his 20+ years on the Senate Armed Services Committee.

I feel we are owed an answer from Obama on why he went to Pakistan as a student. At that time Pakistan was the ralling point for Jihadi as theymade there way to fight the Russians and later they went for Jihad training at bin Laden's camps. He has some explaining to do here!
