OK, now I have to admit it: I see the attraction.

I'm going to have to think about this one.

Even though it might mean a long term problem for me to continue posting on this site.

I mean, truth be told: he does kind of grow on you after a while. I can see the attraction; and it is entirely possible that my irrational reaction to his candidacy might have been solely due to the way I was raised?

Forgive me, but that was difficult to admit.

Anyway, check out his latest one for yourself. See if you're seeing what I'm seeing.

I guess that it'll all depend on the Veep pick.

I only watch their crazy Japanese shows, so I had no idea they had this in them.

Simply awesome.

It wasn't exactly anti-Obama more than parodying the yes We can video. Lots of people parodied it before them too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yLs9kCDhMEQ

They play it safe on politics. They made fun of John McCain's age by wheeling him on to stage as a skeleton.

So feel guilty.

Thanks for joining me in the un-hip, old category.
I didn't have a clue either.
I am much more enlightened now.
Thanks to all.

Just a typical, small town, white girl...

It's a parody of a particularly well known Obama support video using a well known cartoon villain, named Cobra Commander, from the old G.I. Joe TV series.

G4 is the video game channel, in case you were wondering.

I missed the video game reference, but I can't find it in my Atari 2600 cartridge box. Tanks anyone? I gotta warn ya, I'm pretty good.

You may not be interested in war, but war is interested in you.

They used to be really good at teaching every day fools how to problem solve their computers, but some time about two-three years ago they decided that gamers were their audience.

That and people who like crazy Japanese shows like Ninja Warrior.

At least he used the word "dissonant." I love it Moe, excellent!

Is there not a Live-Action GI Joe movie coming out in the somewhat near future?

from what I remmember though, it takes a somewhat anti-American bent. JOE becomes some joint strike force instead of good old US troops.

do they not know that GI Joe specifically refers to US troops?

But when the facts don't match their agenda, they change the facts. Happens quite often.

Socialism doesn't work. It looks nice on paper, but it's been tried and it's failed miserably every time (usually accompanied by widespread death and suffering).

Given that such a large share of the film industry's profits come from international markets, I would bet that the change from "Real American Hero" to "International Soldier" (or whatever it is) is a bid to increase sales overseas, where America and its military actions are less popular than one might wish.

Unless there is any evidence that Hasbro is run by America-haters, I would point the finger at business rather than ideology.

My initial reaction was based on the typical Hollywood spinning of events to match their memes. Witness any of the anti-American films dealing with Iraq or the Middle East, "An Inconvenient Truth", or anything by Michael Moore.

In this case it may actually have been an attempt to appeal to a larger audience. I haven't seen the film so I should reserve judgement.

HASBRO has never been run by America haters and have done as much as anyone to promote patriotism and the rule of law. If this film spins anti-American it will be because the Hollywood producers made it so.

Wasn't anti-American if I remember (the cartoons) correctly.

Romney/Pace 2008

was amazing. i think i might faint.

I really enjoyed Cobra Commander's sit down with the girls on The View...getting to say to them what so many of us, I'm sure, have wanted to say for some time :). He also, was apparently at the Pope's birthday party.

Man, I miss the 80's. They just don't have villains like Cobra Commander....
