I have nothing else to add except kudos for CBS News for doing this story.

[UPDATED:] After a little birdie pointed it out to me, I watched this clip again. Is it just me or does the word "Democrat" not appear in this at all?

Here's a story that liberals and conservatives alike can join together in mutual disgust.

I don't know who is worse: Murtha or the greedy constituents in his district that unashamedly continue to reelect him.

I needed a story to counter a Haliburton attack for a paper I have to write for my current class. This nicely fills the bill.

about this. Unfortunately, he didn't get enough help.
We get the government we deserve

Moves me to cussing...but I won't do it on-screen. It is sickening, disgusting and it has to end. This guy is seriously ethically challenged....

Isn't this illegal? Basically, collecting bribes?

I can't say I mind Murtha getting some heat, but I still don't buy...

a) The equation of personal donations to candidates with illegal corporate giving

b) The equation of the exercise of a first amendment right to donate money to help politicians get their message out, with a bribe.

is that his earmarks happen to all go to groups who donate to his campaign. While it can't be proved from this that he demands such contributions, it is true that no one who fails to give money to Murtha gets money from him.

Ironically, CBS has pointed out the need to donate, for those Pennsylvanians desiring earmarks who are a little slow on the uptake.

If people don't already know that Murtha is a Democrat, then they have been living under a rock for the last few years.
