Question of the Day

I just got this email. It's in relation to this nutter and this interview with the nutter wherein the nutter claims to have been gassed and tortured in federal prison due to his tax evasion. Of note, in the YouTube clip, the guy interviewing the nutter set the nutter up with an undercover U.S. Marshall who blew the whole thing open.
So my question: Do you think my email correspondent is voting for Huckabee, Paul, or Obama?

Nothing else screams loon-off-his-meds like an all cap rant.

no need to include him with Obama and Paul.
The guy was arrested for tax evasion so I doubt he's an Obama guy, they WANT to give money to the Government.
Plus I think Paul's supporters get tortured by UFO's, not the government.
I am a born again Christian. I have spoken to a few "end times" nutters. This one is classic in the talking points.
The most upsetting thing to me as a Christian are people who call themselves Christians, but in all actually are nut jobs who claim the name, but do not actually know what the Bible says. This is one of those guys.
You try to "witness" to someone with your faith, but after they see people like this, they want nothing to do with you. It is heart breaking.

A picture may be worth a thousand words, but it takes the bandwidth of ten thousand.
Huckabee's people are more modern in their eschatology (this guy is definitely pre-millenial, but post-Tribulationist - or, at best, mid-Tribulationalist); and no Obama supporter would ever consider the income tax to be illegal.

"more modern" in eschatology? As a Bible college student, I can tell you that this kind of debate has been ongoing for hundreds of years. Nothing new about that.

gives itaway-up to that point I was going to say RONPAUL!RONPAUL!RONPAUL!, but he gives himself away as a supporter of God's candidate right at the end.

Ordinary, normal evangelicals/fundamentalists, sure, no surprise there. But I didn't think that he had the ah, enthusiasts, too.

distrustful of the U.N. (think one world government, foisting the values of other countries on America etc) -- These people are also very anti-tax, actually they would generally be Ron Paul guys except for the religious overtones and the fact that they are generally Hawks. When one of them loses it they go off like this guy.
I'm an evangelical, and certainly don't trust the UN that much. Now, the Bible does clearly teaches there will be one world government, but whether the UN or EU is part of that, no one knows for sure.
However, I would never dream of disobeying the Bible's command to pay taxes to our government (Matt. 22:21, Rom. 13:6, 1 Peter 2:13, KJV).
Which is why I'm voting for McCain, because you can bet whatever Clinton or Obama does with your money, it will be far worse than anything McCain might have come up with. I'll holding my nose when voting for McCain, but don't expect me to enjoy doing that.

to the choir.
I'm talking about people who attend prophecy conferences and follow Jack van Impe, Ed Hinson, Perry Stone, Chuck Missler and Hal Lindsey. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with that. I'm just saying that if someone like that goes over the edge you can get a guy like Brown.

I imagine that only the kooks are left in Huckabee's camp, and it is starting to resemble HWMNBN's supporters. Oh, and Anteater's still around ;-)

And I didn't think your one of the kooks Doug, not to mention the fact that you've already stated that you think its over for Huckabee earlier.

I haven't seen any kooks like that over in the Huckabee camp. There are some very religious folks but not that far out there.

Most have accepted MxcCain is the nominee-some like this current crazy, don't.

So if you don't accept mccain you are a "far out one"? Are you ever in for a shock in November.
RonPaul made a big deal out of offering moral support to Ed & Elaine Brown last year. The Paulistas were making a big deal out of this at the time.
There are parts of New Hampshire where there is something in the water that breeds bozos like Brown.

near Evansville, IN (the kind that make their own money) that sound like this guy. They are supporters of HWMNBN. I think a bunch of them got arrested just recently, too.
So, my money goes on HWMNBN rather than Huck.
IT IS TIME TO CHOOSE TO TAKE A STAND
Even accounting for various eschatological twists, many of the (supposed) heirs of the Reformation cannot refrain from betraying a deep-seated disbelief that the sovereign Lord continues to rule the destinies of both men and nations with all power according to his own pleasure--in which fact his people take great comfort. When this faithlessness rose with a vengeance in the late 1800s the sad spawn was a liberalism which sought messianic intervention in the form of social engineering; in our generation its resurgence on the conservative side fuels both hope for messianic intervention in the form of heroic individual action in the service of the exalted leader, and fear and despair that such a one may not be found.
soli Deo gloria
All the HWSNBN supporters I know are Reformed (sadly enough). Besides, from what I understand, a lot of them are atheistic and thus not going to use the Gog and Magog terminology, and Reformed people just don't talk about Revelation.
And he sure as heck ain't voting for Obama.
I truly had no idea. Please tell me it's a small sample that you're referring to.
And about Revelation, it's not that it isn't talked about, just not in the same tense in some key passages!
soli Deo gloria

if there has been an influx of Democrats to RedState.
No one, in their right mind, could possibly consider this nutcase as typical of the Huckabee supporters.
There is nothing remotely Christian about the quoted rant. As to whom the guy would vote for, I doubt he would go near a voting booth. Did you listen to the YouTube interview?
I have been noticing a lot of insulting comments about Huckabee supporters on various posts. That does not speak well of our party.
I don't agree that McCain, Romney, or Guiliani would make good Republican Presidential candidates, but I don't feel the need to insult those who do. Remember the old saw about "we can disagree without being disagreeable"?
The only religious intolerance I have seen on the Republican side was not because Romney was Mormon (that accusation was a red herring), but because Huckabee is a Baptist preacher, and some of his supporters actually to try to live what they believe.
Thanks to those of you who don't do such things, and shame on those of you who do.

I agree. This doesn't sound like the Huckabee supporters that I really know in the real world. The Internet is a rigged game, and the crazies have an easier time than the sane.

There are enough conspiracy theorists in the Paul camp to make it more likely that it's one of his backers behind things.
The end-times references of Gog and Magog lead toward someone familiar with some evangelical eschatology; however, there are quite a few Christians in the Paul camp. Also, a few wing-nuts might be able to talk some end-times smack without being a big church-goer.
Obama comes in third; it doesn't fit the MO of one of his supporters.
Paul all the way...
Elected officials get crazies like that write and visit their offices all the time.
This guy visited my office a few months ago nad has become by favorite crazy. He has a long series of videos on Youtube. Check them out if you are bored or can use a good laugh. The animated campaign ads are particularly good.
