Rep Joe Donnelly continues to bite the hand that claims to have fed him.

And the neocons go "Doot, da-doot, da-doot-da-doot-doot-doot, da-doot, da-doot-da-doot-doot-doot..."

Moveon.org spent a good deal of money going after his opponent in 2006. The DCCC made him part of their "Red to Blue" program. And, of course, the netroots marched right alongside, pushing his candidacy.

And how does he repay them?

Rep. Donnelly says Iraq situation better
By Tom Coyne Associated Press

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- U.S. Rep. Joe Donnelly returned from a second trip to Iraq in five months encouraged that the mission there is going better and that by 2009 the U.S. military's role could be primarily as trainers and advisers.

"I feel we've made progress, and the other part is I feel we can see an end game in sight," Donnelly, D-Ind., told reporters on a conference call Tuesday from Washington. "It isn't we just keep plugging away in the hopes something will turn out right. Gen. (David) Petraeus is working a plan and we seem to be heading toward a place where the Iraqis can be self-sustaining and we'll have a smaller presence in the background."
Donnelly's findings were in stark contrast to his visit to Iraq last July, when he said the only positive thing that happened in that country since the beginning of the war in March 2003 was the ouster of Saddam Hussein.

Precisely as they deserve, of course. (Via Instapundit)

Read on.

This isn't the first time Rep Donnelly has broken ranks, mind you: he had the mother-wit to break away from Moveon.org's rather stupid-in-retrospect charge up the hill against General Petraeus. In fact: for a good chuckle, note the increasing sourness in the blog posts about the man as the days go on and on; they haven't quite noticed this last outrage, but I'm sure that they will, they will. And I'm sure that it'll also tick off a few of them.

Alas for Moveon.org, the DCCC, and the netroots, political purchases don't come with receipts.

PS: Yes, netrooters, I am laughing at you. What are you going to do about it: primary the flexible son of a gun? Yeah, that'll show me. Now stop reading this blog, and go get some money to give to Rep Donnelly! He's up for re-election, after all.

I suppose that MoveOn.org will not fight his next election battle. I guess Soro's saw all these Redstate Dems as puppets..guess what George these people are American's first...you can't fight patriotism..though you try!

Freedom of Religion not Freedom from Religion

The war will not be the boon for the libs in 08 they thought it was going to be. It's simple for a blue dog if you meet Gen. Petraeus. Would you hang your hat with him or Harry "War is lost" Reid?

He's about as compelling as watching a nail rust. He has no ideas. He is not a leader. He is not interesting. He was a place holder in the 2004 election, because no one could beat Chocola. In 2006, it would have been the same, except for the national climate that swept him it. District 2 is a swing district and Donnelly is by no means safe. If the national climate changes, he's in just as much trouble of being swept out, as he was fortunate to be swept in.

This district will flip, as soon as the country starts hating Democrats again.

He may be feeling the pressure from his center-right district voters not to get too stupidly Democrat in his behavior, hoping he'll survive when the winds do change.

Any chance Chocola will run again? Because I'm told he was a pretty good Congressman for his 4 years and his loss was a fluke.
