Representative Bill Delahunt (MA-10; Obama): "I’m glad they finally have a chance to see you, Mr. Addington." [UPDATED]

"They" being al-Qaeda, you understand.

And "Mr. Addington" being the Chief of Staff for the Vice President.

I'm simultaneously sorry for, and envious of, Allahpundit: repeated exposure to this kind of filth has made him numb. I'm personally ready to punch the wall.

By the way, Representative Bill Delahunt has been an Obama super-delegate from the start.

Of course he was.

[UPDATE: And now, the predictable attempt at an explanation from Mister Delahunt:

Delahunt said he was just trying to express that he was glad to see Addington. Delahunt said he recalls saying "I," not "they," during the testimony – though the video, broadcast on C-SPAN, shows he was talking about Al Qaeda.

Perhaps Mister Delahunt may want to contemplate whether his mental faculties are up to the task of representing the Tenth Congressional District of Massachusetts. Interestingly, that comment remains true whether or not he actually believes what he was saying there...]

It will be interesting to see what Delahunt says about this. I can't really think of any way for him to explain it away, so I assume he will just ignore it.

It is a shame the people of Massachusetts believe in a one party system (for federal races and legislative races, at least).

He is of course the best argument ever made for the second amendment. It is politicians like him that make Americans remember that one day we may have to defend ourselves from our government.

-Thomas Paine: The American Crisis, No. 4, 1777

I always suspected the Founders wanted the people to be reasonably well-matched against abusive force by their government should it ever grossly deny their rights. I'm not saying every household should be free to install an ICBM but it's something to remember when they try to expand the disparity between what citizens and authorities can have and use, and also because the citizens will be similarly mismatched against criminals who disregard gun laws entirely.

"bastard" at Redstate?

I'm new, so I wouldn't want to use a word like "bastard" if it wasn't acceptable. "Bastard" is about the "strongest" word that I ever use, but I believe it (and by "it" I mean the word "bastard") is appropriate here. So, if someone would please let me know if I may call this genetalman a "bastard," I would greatly appreciate it.

Mississippi, Illinois, Louisiana...looks like a trend to me.

The foul mood is understandable.

out those who need to identified as of particular interest to Al Qaeda.
What a weasel rat baaastid Delahunt is.

What a piece of human waste. Where have we come in our politics that a guy with a moral compass like this is in virtually no danger of being kicked out of office?

Many Romans enjoyed watching Christians being fed to lions. Some Christians enjoyed watching heretics burn at the stake. And the Nazis systematically exterminated Jews, gypsies, the "mentally unfit," and homosexuals.

Does it surprise anyone that some people would enjoy watching the slaughter of one's political opponents?

the Cape and Islands, as it's called -- Cape Cod, Nantucket and marthas Vineyard.

In 1996, he was in a Democrat primary race to succeed retiring Rep Gerry Studds (D-pervert). The winner in that race was Phil Johnston, by a narrow margin of 266 votes, later reduced to 182 (out of 50,000 cast). Johnston was declared the winner, but Delahunt took it to Court & the Judge counted all the ballots, threw out some, and ended up with delahunt the winner by 108 votes. Hey, it's massachusetts.

The Delahunt/Johnston precedent was the basis (or one of them)for Gore's challenge of the Florida results in 2000.

In 2005, Delahunt entered into an agreement with Hugo Chavez to buy heating oil through non-profits in Mass & distribute to poor people in Mass, etc etc.

The epithet used above to describe delahunt is entirely apposite, though maybe not appropriate for the site....
