The Club for Growth does a great job of keeping watch over the economic records of our politicians. Today, they released the Senate RePork Card, which lists and scores Senators on their votes for 15 different anti-pork amendments in 2007.
Republicans (59%) scored much better than Democrats (12%) overall, though only three of them (Coburn, DeMint and Burr) scored 100%. Democrat Russ Feingold (Wisconsin) scored 80%, coming in better than most Republicans. Only two of the 15 amendments were successful (including Coburn’s proposal to eliminate the $1 million Hillary Clinton wanted for a Woodstock museum.)
The majority of Democrats scored 7%, while the lowest graded Republicans were Ted Stevens (Alaska), Thad Cochran (Miss.), Kit Bond (Missouri), and Arlen Specter (Penn.), each with 13%.
Two pork projects that failed include: adding sand to San Diego’s beaches (failed 12-77) and millions of dollars for bicycle paths instead of using the funds to improve bridge safety (failed 18-80.) Regular citizens need to know the decisions these leaders are making with their tax dollars and The Club for Growth is giving us an easy way to deliver that message.

I am kinda confused. Is the higher % good or bad? It really doesn't make it clear (that or I am just not reading it correctly.

Both of NH's House Democratic Freshman fared (true-to form?) badly.
Paul Hodes voted against all 50 anti-pork ammendments in the House.
Carol Shea-Porter voted against 49 of 50.
I appreciate the opportunity to jump all over this locally.
Thanks again.
