It looks like the high minded campaign between Hillary! and Barry Obama has come to an end.
In a campaign that seems destined to ensure that no one of either party supports either of these candidates, Obama and Clinton have started acting like... like losers.
Now the Clinton campaign sends this. More below the fold.
At this point, it's no secret that the Obama campaign is in political hot water given the news stories of the last few weeks and is desperate to change the subject.
The ground is shifting away from them and their response?
First, disenfranchise voters - Prevent new votes in Florida and Michigan. Stop voting in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Oregon, West Virginia, Puerto Rico, Kentucky, South Dakota, Montana, West Virginia and Indiana.
Second, peddle photos of President Clinton shaking hands with Reverend Wright less than 48 hours after calling for a high-minded conversation on race. Well, President Clinton took tens of thousands of photos during his eight years as president. Stop the presses.
Third, accuse our campaign of having something to do with Senator Obama's passport file being breached, a reckless charge that has zero merit.
Fourth, continue attacks on Senator Clinton's character in an effort to implement what the Chicago Tribune called a full assault on her ethics.
Fifth, stonewall the press: no tax returns, no state records, no answers about the inconsistencies in the Rezko story.
So it's not a pretty sight – it's all part of a pattern of just words.
Senator Obama talks about voter participation while actively disenfranchising millions.
He calls for high minded debates while practicing lowdown politics.
He promises a different kind of campaign while attacking Hillary's character.
He promises transparency while hiding basic info and stonewalling the press.
It's no wonder that Americans are coming to see that for all of his lofty rhetoric, Senator Obama's candidacy is really just words.
It's hard to disagree with anything here. I only hope the McCain campaign is taking note of this and not firing staffers who happen to read it.

the Democrat party...please Democrats keep it up alot of us enjoy it.
Freedom of Religion not Freedom from Religion
in a story that mentioned Obama -- Oh wait, I meant down low, I always get that confused.
I agree with Jaded. I may not be all that happy with McCain as the nominee -- but I am enjoying the squirming going on with the Dems.

...were trotted out solely to change the subject from Rev. Wright.
“.....women and minorities hardest hit”
Tune in tonight to see if the Wright episode is now only to be seen in re-runs. I would hope not as there is more to uncover in this story.

The Rev Wright ordeal went viral. Even ordinary folks in my neighborhood who are generally apolitical were talking about it.
The only people who would even be aware of the non-story that was "passport-gate" and the Richardson endorsement would be partisans and political junkies - far from a significant amount of voters.
“.....women and minorities hardest hit”
that the Richardson endorsement has enough "oomph" to take Wright's racism off the stage. He was never a big player in the nomination process, seeming to be running for #2. The passport "scandal" has taken a real blow as being an Obama-centric event with the revelation that ALL 3 presidential contenders left had their files perused.
Forgive me, I feel a little queasy.
Fighting for conservatism one day at a time.
they are "honored" to share the stage.
It's hard to disagree with anything here
So what?
What are either one proposing?
Why would anyone on our side not want them to fight as long as possible?
If McCain has half a brain he will not comment on the affray.
Chaos is a wonderful thing.
To quote Napoleon: "Never interfere with your enemy when he is in the process of destroying himself."
The Wright affair should be Obama vs. the New Media (YouTube, blogosphere, etc.). The McCain and Hillary campaigns should stand off and profit from whatever damage ensues to the Obama campaign.
Mirror, mirror on the wall
Why will he not trip and fall?
Why do masses him adore?
Why is it he out-polls Gore?
O Hillary, though you know it not,
You're so ice cold, while he is hot.
The day when crowds would hail you Queen
Have died beneath Barak's machine.
There's something that you need to know:
That wishing does not make it so.
You trampled those athwart your path;
Now you crave love? Don't make me laugh.
I meant what I said and I said what I meant. An elephant's faithful 100 percent.
Seems desperate to ignore these very serious issues regarding Obama. Knowing whether or not the potential future President of the country is a Black Nationalist is absolutely critical for the American people. You cannot continue to fire people who raise ligitimate questions and expect to win. At this point I think if Obama is the nominee this is the Republicans to lose. Can McCain lose it? Stay Tuned
If he inserted himself in this mess all attention would immediately turn to him. He's keeping his powder dry, because he knows timing is everything, and right now is not the time.

The Rezko and Wright stories were likely dropped by the Hillary camp into the lap of various blogs and started spreading virally from there.
The blogs and other alternative media (like Drudge Report) will continue to run with the story no matter what McCain does. Some 527 groups too.
The McCain campaign should not get its hands dirty with this. It doesn't need to.
Ironically, the right-wing blogs that are slamming Obama over Wright are helping Hillary. She doesn't mind, and they don't mind.

Darn right we (bloggers) will, and so will the 527s. I'm building a nice dossier of stuff on B.O. ;)

It's not that difficult to do it, considering she's not going to get the nomination, regardless of what she might think. There's just no way the superdelegates are going to subvert the voters and give it to her. I never say never, but I just can't see it happening. They want to win, and kicking Barry to the curb would assure a November loss because Barry's cult would stay home. (Not all, but the young voters and other sporadic/first-time voters would.)
Rezco has been brewing here in Illinois for years. The big question up until a few weeks ago was how dirty was Governor Blagojevich. But court documents revealed an Obama connection. It wasn't Hillary, but the Chicago papers.
As for the Wright thing, while I wouldn't put it pas Hillary to get Sean Hannity to do a story, he was the first one talking about Wright, last year.

If the Clinton camp had wanted to use them against Obama, they would have done so a while ago.
It was Brian Ross from ABC News, not the Clintons, who released these Wright videos.
The Clinton are to blame for some things, but are certainly not to blame for 100% of the scandals in the United States.
Jeez.
MMiller Did it occur to anyone else that prior to this personal revelation by Barak Obama regarding his minister and his need to speak to the race issue..40% of Americans felt Barak Obama's religious affiliation was Muslim? Now they know. This appears to me as a perfect orchestration of political prowess by the Obama team. Release the Rezko update, address the screaming 'racist' all on a Friday afternoon. Then, let it fester for the weekend with an announcement of a major speech on 'race' on Tuesday.
This tactic negated the admission by the Obama campaign that once again, a new set of circumstances regarding the Rezko growing donor list and trial.
Interestingly, the speech once again enflamed the racist angle by comparing Mrs Ferraro to Reverend Wright. How can African Americans as a core group not feel like a lost 'race' in the United States when the 'race' is pushed out and roped in at the whim of Barak Obama when he first needs a launching base to make a name for himself..second disavows the 'race' while he says he transcends 'race' and ignores the plight of the Jenna 6. Once again he reaches for the 'race' to propel him forward in a caucus..giving his stump speech in 'black speak' accent on ya'all..throws the 'race' back in the closet as he denies his faith and once again open the wounds by declaring himself the 'uniter'.
Uniter of what? A country that has long lived, since the late 60's in relative comfort with all races and religions. My street is a great mix..we have black, white, christians, jews, homosexuals and a lot of pets. It is my choice as a free citizen to attend any function, church, lecture or movie, I choose. If I ever get the inclination to go to South Central, Los Angeles, I am as uncomfortable in that neighborhood, as someone from South Central, would feel in my neighborhood. The same goes for Koreatown and Chinatown. That is the beauty and the beast we describe as our country.
Our choice-not Obamas business or political ploy used as chicanery to influence an election. The greatest speech ever given on the subject of 'race' began when our forefathers landed on this soil and wrote the rest of the story they called the Constitution. It describes what I believe most thinking Americans long for..a place to call home.
All the while his campaign saying a redo was OK in MI and FL but working to destroy the redo by running the clock.
I have to hand to to BO as this is as low as it gets. To stir the racial pot to subjugate impropriety on the state level and gain enough media attention to disenfranchise millions of 'folks' by not addressing their voting concerns in two populace states.
Unbelievable-and CNN focuses on the dates of liaisons with Monica Lewinsky as the sole information worth garnering from 11,000 pages of documentation of data 'everyone' was salivating over that are obviously very public thanks to the Ken Starr authority.
Is there reality reporting going on?
aside from the comic relief of course, is that should one of these two somehow get elected President he/she will be so badly battered from all this they will probably be unable to garner support for any of their programs from their own party in Congress. The concept of a liberal lame duck administration beginning on Inauguration Day is just too satisfying.
I've placed a standing order with Orville Redenbacker, let the games begin.

Why would God invent something like whiskey? To keep the Irish from ruling the world of course
(Hey John, long time no read.)
The media will shower love and affection on the new President, unless it's our guy. If it's the Obamessiah, the story will now be his trial by fire, his political death, burial, and Resurrection. He will be the First President of the Second Era of the Finally United States of America.
Tell me I'm wrong.

... can't do that, you may be right :-) If you are right it could be an even longer four years than Carter.

You can only go on telling people there's not an elephant in the room until the point that they look around with their own eyes and see that there's an elephant in the room.
IOW, Media-created honeymoon for "Pres. Obama"? - Lasts somewhere between 30 days and 2 weeks.
(Which, if memory serves, is about as long as they were able to keep the "honeymoon" going for Pres. Bubba, before the wheels came off that wagon...)
I love it. This historical election has created a civil war between two socialists that would not have happened without Commander Limbaugh. I'll follow him to the gates of hell. Oh wait, we'll just watch Hillary and Obama descend there. Pass the popcorn, this show is good!

but weren't we told that W taking a photo with Jack Abramoff was a SCANDAL?!?
to watch the democrats, especially the presidential contenders & Howard Dean, squirm. They are reaping the crop of the seeds they've sown over the years.
It's not over; a political eternity exists between now & November. We can expect the MSM to shill for the democrat nominee, though some may not have their heart in it. They will happily point out every perceived & contrived negative of McCain & other republican candidates. What we have to do is counter it & be on the offensive as much as possible, taking every opportunity to do so.
It's five months until the Democratic Convention in August!
This stuff is just getting started - there is plenty of time for events to derail Obama. Just look at the last few weeks when his campaign came under scrutiny by the MSM, stung by an SNL skit about their fawning coverage of the new Messiah. It's been like a boxer who never took a punch before . . .
The free ride is over for Obama now. Oh, the press still overwhelmingly supports him and will cover for him (witness the NYT "coverage" of the Wright affair), but enough are determined not to be seen as his toadies to get the news out. And the bloggers are engaged, too - I just saw a picture of Barack and Michelle at dinner with PLO prevaricator/apologist Edward Said (wonder if the Jews are getting nervous yet?) . . .
". . . one of these two somehow get elected President he/she will be so badly battered from all this they will probably be unable to garner support for any of their programs from their own party in Congress..."
This idea may be a worthy candidate for consideration by Republican and Conservative 'alternative media' as a 'munchable product for for the lumpen prols.
Imagine the message: The Party of promise to just about everybody, just about all the time, of just about everything they desire; - being very likely unable to get anything for anybody any time during the next presidential term (or two).
The possibility of an empty feedbag for the most expectant and 'deserving' is a sad meme to miss.
(Not an entirely sarcastic entry. There is political meat on these bones).
