So This Is the Change to Believe In?

Two Muslim women at Barack Obama's rally in Detroit Monday were barred from sitting behind the podium by campaign volunteers seeking to prevent the women's headscarves from appearing in photographs or on television with the candidate.
The campaign has apologized to the women, all Obama supporters who said they felt betrayed by their treatment at the rally.
"This is of course not the policy of the campaign. It is offensive and counter to Obama's commitment to bring Americans together and simply not the kind of campaign we run," said Obama spokesman Bill Burton. "We sincerely apologize for the behavior of these volunteers."
Sure, the Obama campaign *says* it apologized. I'm sure they did when the women raised a stink about it. But it is not just any volunteers that get to set the backdrop. They do get campaign guidance.
Oh, and aren't all of Obama's supporters committed to hope and change? Look at Doug Kmiec. Obama batted eyelashes at him and he's now gotten the religion. Haven't all the volunteers gotten the "hope and change" religion? Or maybe Obama is a predestination candidate [Ed. -- Yeah, destination hell]
Surely Obama does not surround himself with bigots unless they are giving him spiritual advice.

the craziest, the most divisive racist presidential candidate.
Disgusting.

While the crowd was indeed diverse, some students at the event questioned the practices of Mrs. Obama’s event coordinators, who handpicked the crowd sitting behind Mrs. Obama. The Tartan’s correspondents observed one event coordinator say to another, “Get me more white people, we need more white people.” To an Asian girl sitting in the back row, one coordinator said, “We’re moving you, sorry. It’s going to look so pretty, though.”
“I didn’t know they would say, ‘We need a white person here,’ ” said attendee and senior psychology major Shayna Watson, who sat in the crowd behind Mrs. Obama. “I understood they would want a show of diversity, but to pick up people and to reseat them, I didn’t know it would be so outright.”

Has an image ever been so tightly protect as Baracks? I always railed on Bill Clinton for the fact if he came to say hello to you someone had wrote in down first so he can read it off, but Barack is taking this to a whole new level. God forbid he needs to do a photo op with the leaders of Japan, Mexico and Bahrain we'll hear "Sorry guys, we need to bring stand ins for you, BRING OUT NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK FOR THESE PHOTOS"

They can fly the two ladies to the next rally and let them sit right behind him, right?

Obama's guiding principle: "I reserve the right to revise and extend my remarks."
"We sincerely apologize for the behavior of these volunteers."
First the guy in charge of vetting his veep possibilities was only a volunteer, now the folks who vet the living props behind the nominee in photo ops are simply volunteers.
How long before David Axelrod finally says something that warrants the formulaic dismissal "not the David Axelrod I knew 20 minutes ago..." accompanied by an unceremonious release from all his "volunteer" duties...
Does anyone actually work for Obama? Or are they all so taken in by the cult that they do not require compensation? And if that's the case, what on earth is he doing with all that money he's taking in?

"These are not the volunteers that I knew," says Barry.
Hee hee.
Frat
It's sad that this happened with those women, but I can see why there might be a hesitation for a picture of Obama with head-scarfed women in this day and age. Heaven knows what you'd do with it. Look what happened with the "his brother says he's a Muslim" story. It wasn't true but your side slimed him all over the world with nasty emails, blogs, etc. Turns out the brother never said it, but I bet you don't do the viral email thing to correct the lie. http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2008/06/from-the-fact-c.html

Wow. Now Obama's campaign is throwing people under the back of the bus.
