Tancredo Encore

I asked some follow up questions of Colorado Congressman and presidential candidate Tom Tancredo:

1. What would you do to address climate change in striving for energy independence?

2. What would you do to address taxes, health care, and education in striving for economic vibrancy?

3. What would you do about Iran's nuclear drive and its support of terrorism?

Like the Congressman's response to my first set of questions, his answers are in video format:

What else should I ask Congressman Tancredo?

of the Constitution Party since his message does not seem to be penetrating with Reupublicans. He's much more in touch with the Buchanan wing than the regular Republicans.

Rep. Tancredo's lifetime rating of "97.8" from the American Conservative Union is the best of all the Republican candidates for president.

Rep. Tancredo has consistently received a score of "100%" from the National Right to Life Committee since arriving in Congresss. Rep. Tancredo is as strongly pro-life as any Republican candidate seeking the presidential nomination.

Rep. Tancredo received an "A" rating from the National Rifle Association for the 2006 election cycle and presently holds an "A" rating from Gun Owners of America.

In 2005, he received a "Taxpayer Friend Award" from the National Taxpayer Union (NTU). He was awarded a grade of "A" by the NTU in 2005 and tied for the third highest score from NTU from among all four hundred thirty-five members of the United States House of Representatives.

Rep. Tancredo is one of the most conservative members of the Untied States House of Representatives.

Rep. Tancredo has repeatedly stated that he is running for president as a Republican and will not run for president as an independent or on a third party ticket.

Rep. Tancredo strongly disagrees with Pat Buchanan with regard to policy towards the nation of Israel. Tom Tancredo is a strong supporter of Israel. Pat Buchanan is most certainly not a strong supporter of Israel. Personally, I am a very strong supporter of the nation of Israel.

What policy positions does Rep. Tancredo hold with which you disagree? What presidential candidate are you supporting?

I would like to see Rep. Tancredo asked questions about abortion and second amendment rights.

It may explain alot.

Envisioning when all that is Left is the Right.

I suggest Rep. Tancredo be asked if he agrees or disagrees with Fred Thompson's statement that "[y]ou're going to have to, in some way, work out a deal where they [illegal aliens] can have some aspirations of citizenship". I would like to know if there are any circumstances under which Rep. Tancredo would agree that a deal should be worked out to give twelve million illegal aliens aspirations of citizenship.

Gosh, I hope Fred Thompson doesn't support amnesty...
We better find out quick..

I think Raider is referencing a statement Fred made during the Reagan debate. Fred has since said that law was a mistake he does not want to repeat. Note that the Reagan approved law is one of the reasons those of us who "were being reasonable" last time are emphatically against anything that isn't enforcement only at this time. We got shafted on improved enforcement on the last grand deal and we don't intend to get shafted again.

I was not "referencing a statement Fred made during the Reagan debate". Apparently, "The Gadfly" believes I have used a Fred Thompson quote from the time of the 1986 amnesty debate.

In fact, words I quoted were spoken by Fred Thompson in 2006. Those words were part of a quote from Fred Thompson about which he was asked to comment on a Fox News Sunday broadcast in 2007 when he appeared with Chris Wallace.

Fred is most definitely against the present Senate legislation. Rudy is also opposed to the current Senate bill. Rudy, without question, supports giving legal status and a path to citizenship to illegal aliens. So being against the 2007 Senate immigration reform bill doesn't necessdarily mean that one opposes a path to citizenship for illegal aliens.

Fred would likely be better on the issue of border security than any of the Democrats running for president. However, based upon his statements, I firmly believe that Fred Thompson believes that at some point the millions of illegal aliens in this country should be given a path to citizenship. I do not believe millions of illegal aliens should be given a path to citizenship.
