Welcome to the First Cobra Civil War.

...and oh my yes, have I been waiting to use that tag.

Guess who's not going gently into that good night?

That's right! Senator Hillary Clinton! She has a new website up! And it's not the website of a woman planning to just quit after the Texas primaries, either:

As more voters make their choice for the Democratic nomination, there is growing interest in the facts and myths about the race to reach 2208 delegate votes - the number required for a candidate to secure the nomination with Florida and Michigan included. The Obama campaign is claiming, without precedent or justification, that automatic delegates (commonly referred to as "super delegates") should switch to Sen. Obama en masse based on arbitrary metrics, with the aim of tilting the delegate balance in his favor. The fact is: no automatic delegate is required to cast a vote on the basis of anything other than his or her best judgment about who is the most qualified to be president.

Thank God I don't have a webcam. The manic glint in my eye would scare small dogs (although my son thinks it's the funniest thing ever, apparently).

Read on.

Jake Tapper, who does not approve of this argument (although, as Karl of Protein Wisdom notes, there actually is one, Senator Obama and his supporters aside), gives a bit of the warning:

The three chairs of the Democratic Convention Credentials Committee, which will decide this Michigan and Florida morass, all worked in the administration of Bill Clinton: Former Secretary of Labor Alexis Herman, Social Security Administration associate commissioner James Roosevelt Jr., and White House travel consultant Eliseo Roques-Arroyo, as noted yesterday by the Washington Times.

More and more, this reminds me of the Florida recount.

That's because he's on the inside, where he clearly considers there to be a good guy, and a bad girl. From the outside, it looks more like the First Cobra Civil War:

(Start around 8:24)

...and may they have joy of each other, right up to the convention, and spending all the while all that lovely money that they've been raking in up to this point*.

So good luck, Democrats. Hil's people: we can't wait to hear your explanation why your candidate is the choice of the people when she only got the nod via an end run at the convention**. Barry's: we're equally eager to watch you try to extract yourself from the Michigan seating problem without terminally aggravating an utterly Democratic-owned State with a 7.4% unemployment rating***. Both of you: read up on parliamentary procedure, because the first day's going be a doozy.

And that's assuming no actual rioting. Which I wouldn't wish on a nice city like Denver anyway.

Moe Lane

PS: One other point. It gets this far, having either one win will be fine, thanks.

*And if you're expecting Herself to drop out next month, ask yourself why you think that. No, I don't really care about your answer, but you should.

**Yes, yes, used to happen all the time. So did polio.

***What, you didn't think we noticed? Silly.

I'm getting tired of the plain stuff.

Popcorn is good with

  • Mrs Dash
  • Salt and Pepper
  • Jalapeno
  • Italian seasonings
  • Garlic & olive oil
  • (Dark) Chocolate
  • Scottish Terrier

Did I say that last one out loud? It's only because this Scottish Terrier at my feet keeps chewing every wooden object she sees.

But I seem to have drifted slight off topic.

The baroness seems much to feminine to be Hillary.

Obama is obviously the guy with the reflective. It seems everyone who looks at him sees themselves.

is that Cobra Commander == Hillary: the Commander was always rather shrill.

The Fuzzy Puppy of the VRWC. I've been usurped!

to www.delegatehub.com myself.
She is one shrewd woman.
John McCain and company needs to take some notes.
She is turning Obama's own supporters into shills for her point of view using their own words.
I love every bit of this. So much so that I am considering giving her $50 towards those Texas/Ohio ad buys.
Go Hillary Go!

I mean, come on! For chivalry's sake, if for no other reason, than to pump some needed money into her starving campaign.

Of course, there's always her friends in the PLA.

The next four months are going to rock hard. The only downside is all of the weight I'm going to gain eating nachos and drinking beer in front of the television.

At barest minimum, she needs OH and Puerto Rico, plus either PA or TX and probably both. If she wins all four, that's more than enough for her to prevent mass superdelegate defections resulting from a desperate desire to unite the party and avoid the prisoner's dilemma of being the last rat off the Good Ship Clinton.

If she does that, Moe's scenarios look pretty promising.

There are all those FBI files on democrats that could do with being published.

she is toast in Texas, over in Ohio and doa in PA, on March 4th.
No one, and I mean no one, is openly talking about supporting her in Texas beyond some paid for elites and hack journalists.
The question is this:
Does she ahve the guts or tools to politically destroy Obama by March 4th?
I don't think so.

Imagine if they had kissed each other. Watch that picture carefully and you can just see it!

This coould be great.
If Hillary does not face reality on March 5th, and chooses to fight, this will be an historical opportunity.

It would seem she still has some cheerleaders willing to put time and treasure towards her efforts as well-

Kind of reminds me of the BCS in college football. I just keep rooting for the scenario that messes things up the most.

I believe Hillary realizes this will be her one & only likely true shot at becoming president, & is not going to let anyone stand in her way. I would expect that she & her minions will claw & scratch every delegate vote they can - it certainly has the potential to get mightly ugly...
