When Is 2nd Place First? When 1st is Sekula-Gibbs and 2nd is Pete Olson going into a runoff.

The 22nd Congressional District of Texas is one of several districts we need to take back. It is a Republican district — Tom DeLay's old district.
In 2006, DeLay resigned and Shelley Sekula-Gibbs replaced him until losing the general election to Nick Lampson. Lampson has tried to play it safe, but he still voted for Nancy Pelosi and likes him some union ties.
Shelley Sekula-Gibbs is going to win the GOP primary. She was on Houston's City Council and was previously elected to fill DeLay's unexpired term in 2006. She has the name identification. What she did when she got to Congress tells us everything we need to know — Sekula-Gibbs in Congress would be an unmitigated disaster. In her previous stint she got nothing accomplished, went left, and chased off all the staff through her egomaniacal ways. She's also waffled so much on the life issue, she makes John Kerry look sincere and consistent. We don't want her back.
The good news is that Sekula-Gibbs will not get a majority vote and the race will go into a runoff. The runoff will probably be with Dean Hrbacek, whose greatest claim to fame is him photoshopping himself onto a thinner person's body for his mail pieces, or RedState endorsed Pete Olson. Olson is as fiscally conservative and socially conservative as they come. He's a protege of Phil Gramm. Do I need to say anything more?
Just so you know, Pete is a military guy — a naval aviator to be precise. Pete flew missions after the Gulf War to enforce international sanctions. In a Congress where the number of GOP veterans are rapidly being overshadowed by Democrat ones, we need to boost our veterans in Congress.
As we said when we endorsed him
Pete's a local kid made good - went to High School in Clear Lake, graduated from Rice - and he's been endorsed by Gramm and Bill Archer. He is a great father, a solid conservative, and will be an excellent congressman.
Sekula-Gibbs so botched her few months in Congress, she'll most likely not be able to pull out of a runoff unless she's running ten points ahead. Less than that, she should be toast. I'm hoping for extra burned.
That looks like it'll happen and we encourage everyone in the 22nd to get out to the polls and vote for Pete Olson.

Vote Pete. Of all the candidates, he is the most conservative and most qualified. But I agree, any one but Shelley.
Also, my mom met him at church on Sunday.

Also, I hate Tom Delay. He is one of the main reason that the Republican party and the conservative movement is in the state of disarray it is today.

he's a longshot, so olson is the better choice; but anybody but shelly. i had to try and sell that used car last year. believe me no one in tx-22 wanted to buy it and that's even greater now that's she's shown just how ineffective and big-headed she is.
