When Will Obama Actually Live Up to His Self-Set Standard?

Not this year apparently.

John McCain moved a fundraiser from Clayton Williams's house down in Texas after the left highlighted a 1990 joke Williams made about rape.

You read that right. 18 years ago Clayton Williams said something he has lived to regret and John McCain, upholding the standards that McCain set and lives by, required that the fundraiser be moved to somewhere else.

While the media is still going ga-ga over Obama's Father's Day speech with "a shaming challenge to African-Americans," the media is not holding Obama to the standard Obama sets for himself.

Evan Gahr notes that rapper Jay-Z

who raps about “b------,” “hoes” and “n-----,“ even urged voters to support Obama in a robo-call for the March 4 Ohio primary and caucus. The equally foul-mouthed rapper Will.I.am, whose hit songs include “I love my B----,” has hyped Obama in two widely-viewed videos posted on YouTube.

Likewise, Obama

met with the rap giant Ludacris in his Chicago office. Ludacris, who Pepsi dropped as a spokesman in 2004 after Fox News Channel host Bill O’Reilly exposed his putrid lyrics, said afterwards that Obama felt like family to him. In March 2007 Ludacris, whose hit songs include “Move B----,” headlined an Obama fundraiser in Atlanta.

As Evan Gahr points out, Obama has claimed to take on rappers, but it really looks like he's on their take instead.

John McCain set a standard that he lived by when he moved a fundraiser from Mr. Williams's home. Barack Obama set a standard that he refuses to live by. It's just for show.

My parents always said they held me to a different standard than my brother because they had higher expectations of me. It stunk back then and it stinks now.

is a bit of an oxymoron, isn't it? He's the say anything, pandering candidate that can't tell us his true agenda; his campaign can't say "if you don't vote for Obama you must be an anti-socialist." Rappers used to tell us that rap was the poetry of the inner-city streets -- it appears that it's just the repeated hateful nonsense of the angry pulpit, and like many who surround Obama, divisiveness is at its core (of cousre in true Obama style, it's everyone else that's being divisive.)

Double standard? More like a triangulated standard that keeps CHANGING with the audience he's pandering to.

At Obama's victory party, after he won the Iowa caucuses, Obama's campaign played the rap song titled "I Got 99 Problems, but a B**ch Ain't One"--which is a JayZ song. Now, do people understand why some Hillary supporters think that Obama ran a somewhat sexist campaign?

Seriously? He played out loud 99 problems? That seems like a pretty bad call...to have a song like that played. I don't care for Hillary, but geez that's just a bit obvious.

I'm sure a tape like that, cut nicely to the overall campaign, can do some minor damage to the Obamatank come november.

I've been saying Obama's all talk for weeks this is just another example.

I just posted an article on www.RealClearPolitics.com
Why Won't Obama Debate McCain? Check it out.

to disagree on... Okay, very little)...

Formally known as Deagle... "Golf is a way of life..."

... and McCain throws him under the bus while Obama gets to hang out with terrorists and preachers of racist hate?

I'm aware that the rules are different for Democrats - e.g. McCain's relationship with a Vice-President of UBS (Phil Gramm) shows "troubling" corporate ties, while Obama's relationship with the President and CEO of UBS does not.

It's not news that the media is always ready to turn a blind eye and even mount up a protective screen for Democrats but McCain's reaction positively invites more of the same type of insubstantial molehill-mountain gotchas from the MSM.
