Why won't Obama answer questions?

Cancels debates, dodges questions, eats waffles

By Soren Dayton Posted in | | | Comments (29) / Email this page » / Leave a comment »

A reporter asked Barack Obama today a question about Jimmy Carter's meeting with Hamas. Obama's response?

"Why can't I just eat my waffle?"

He also just canceled his appearance at a debate in North Carolina. He had been whining that the press finally asked him hard questions.

This reminds us of his handling of a bunch of questions about Rezko. His response?

"Guys, I mean come on. I just answered like eight questions."

Steve Huntley from the Chicago Sun-Times didn't think that was a fair description. Huntley wrote, "In fact, Obama dodged the questions."

Sounds like "dodg[ing] the questions" has become his MO. What's he so afraid of?

"No compromise with the main purpose, no peace till victory, no pact with unrepentant wrong." - Winston Churchill

Obama stutters much more than Bush off script. The great orator is more cut out for speaking bureau jobs rather than making decisions under pressure as our President.

Ask not what I can do for my country, ask what my country can do for me. Washington Elected Elite

The sermonizing from a teleprompter (his sound and fury signifying nothing) just won't cut it in the fast and furious press conference age, even with a sympathetic media. The clothes are so off this wannabe emperor.

My eyes were first opened to his inability to think and speak on his feet in his interview with Major Garrett during the opening days of the Wright fiasco. Those were real and tough questions and he couldn't handle them. Stutter, stammer, uh uh uh hummina hummina. Obama was HORRIBLE. This is my image of him now.

Anybody else notice that little tidbit?

....given that the last one was an absolute disaster. He can't handle the campaign if the media isn't gushing over him and protecting him at every turn. If he had gotten the same treatment Hillary has, he would be toast by now.

“.....women and minorities hardest hit”

was a total disgrace anyone that watched it was dumber for just seeing it. I Don't agree with a lot of things or people but that debate was the worst Presidential debate ever. They never asked serious questions about the issues. Who ever put together that disgrace should have been fired.

He has been serving platitudes and koolaid for months now and his supporters and the press have loved it. Now some in the press have had the impertinence, nay, the audacity to ask what is actually in the koolaid. How dare they!

Dodging questions is the oldest technique in politics. It's fair to point out that he's dodging questions, but it doesn't really phase me. The fact that he associates with Jeremiah Wright and William Ayers and doesn't even realize that they are ultra-radicals is what scares me.

He isn't

that he does not realize it?

establishments will let him get by with skipping additional debates. Every day, Obama reads where some party leader or left-wing media hack demands that Hillary exit the race if "X" happens. The meme is that unless Obama has a major gaffe or Hillary pulls ahead in the popular vote total she must exit. Although not probable, either could happen if Obama has another debate performance like he did last week. Obama has absolutely no incentive to engage Clinton, and the party apparatus--and that is all that matters now--is glad to see him sit on a lead. It could have severe repercussions in the fall if the Clintonistas feel they were robbed, but the Democratic Party is so nervous that it will risk that possibility.

Good times, good times.

Um... because you're running for President? This guy really does think he's above it all. I mean, dodging or ignoring 'dumb' questions is one thing. It's quite another to dodge policy or foreign relations questions.

I'd be afraid he'd be using the waffle line for some 3am calls too.

he's actually quite androgynous. For some reason that appeals to a segment of the public but not to us conservative females. His cult followers like his image; a lot of us are repelled by it. I know this isn't policy- or ideology-related but it matters.

In reading the comments about Obama on various left-wing blogs, I've seen that female supporters of Obama explain their support of him by saying that Obama "has a lot of feminine qualities, more than Hillary does."

Those feminine qualities of Obama they define as: emotional, nurturing, caring.

The wheel has come full circle, I guess.

25 years ago, if a man had said that being emotional is typically feminine--something that women do--the feminists would have been furious. Now they're claiming that for themselves.

Obama wants to have his waffle and eat it too

When he gets beat by McCain he can do Waffle House commercials.

Kerry waffled, Obama eats them.

He's getting pretty much a free ride from the MSM and is doing a good job of beating Hillary , all without answering any direct questions. Why would he be expected to change a winning approach knowing that if he does attempt to address the real issues wiith real answers, he would surely do himself more harm than good.

To get someone equivalent to Obama, one would need only select a top honor student from one of the ivy league colleges and convince that individual that they have all the experience and skills necessary to be President of the United States. Still you would end up with an empty shell sorely lacking ANY of the fundamental attributes Americans look for in a leader. Obama is an empty suit that has charisma, and that is the sum total of his assets.

Think about it. What happened after his godawful debate performance gave a big boost to Republican spirits? Well of the course the kool-aid drinkers responded by increasing the calls for Hillary to bow out. The more he screws up, the more they blame it on everyone but Obama - Hillary, the press, Lee Atwater working from his grave, etc. If he blows a few more answers that'll mean even more of the Dem establishment demand that Hillary get out.

....has tasted the watermelon of victory and doesn't want to choke on the seeds of his own stupidity

but I also have to admit, the "malodorous" comment that you link to - while unspeakably crude and insulting, and having no place in a respectable website - was gut-busting funny!

This leaves me torn, just a bit. Locksley, hey, you just can't talk like that here, dude.
