Strange, there's been a delay at Ames due to voting machine problems, but no Bush is on the ballot. How can this be? I thought machines only malfunctioned when Bush wanted to steal votes.

Clearly something sinister is going on here.

Electronic voting machines are not infallible or more efficient as most thought. This is making the Iowa GOP look bad.

Clearly Diebolt machines were being used, and hacked by nefarious types. Looking at a map, the road from Chicago back out here to the Left Coast runs through Iowa....

Ether that, or "Sam I am" did poorly and this is divine intervention.

Take your pick....Paging Oliver Stone!

That is honestly what I heard.

This has Halliburton written all over it.

I think that the good folks in Iowa imported some specialists from Florida to help with vote.

So was Chad hanging around?

"The state party rented optical scan machines from Diebold, a company at the center of several recent voting controversies. Recently, the state of California decertified Diebold machines for the 2008 election."

I guess the jokes may have been a bit close to home...as Scooby Do said "Ruh Ro".

If they can't get the results straight, they ought to refund all money for tickets and other expenses related to the straw poll. Sure the Democrats can't run an election, but that doesn't excuse the Iowa GOP's inability to do so.

Paper trail is the key. The Diebold machines were a liability. They stored the data in an Access database with no audit trail. The way a recount was done was to reread the total.
