"It Was Worse Than A Crime. It Was A Blunder."
The Follies Continue

The words of the Marquis de Talleyrand appear to be tailor-made for John Kerry's capacity to put both feet in his mouth. I had hoped that a veteran would not be crass enough to mock the work ethic and/or education of other veterans, but seeing as Kerry now says that his infamous comments would be "right either way", whether they were directed at President Bush or at the troops, I guess I have no choice but to conclude that this is elitism of the worst kind. To look down one's nose at veterans who are highly educated, deeply motivated and of superb character and to conclude that despite all of the merits of the American soldier, sailor, pilot and Marine, the members of the American armed forces are just poor, bedraggled and without hope is ridiculous beyond measure. What does Kerry have to say to the self-starters in the Armed Forces who garner unique and valuable technical skills that make them highly valued in the private sector? What does he have to say to the superbly-educated graduates of West Point, Annapolis and the United States Air Force Academy who go on to serve their country with great honor and with great skill? One can only imagine the choice comments they would make to him.
I have no problem, by the way, with this being a campaign issue. Democrats nominated John Kerry for the Presidency a mere two years ago. They should be made to comment on his beliefs, now that he has been so nice as to specify them with excruciating exactitude. The very essence of the volunteer armed forces is being questioned without any justification for the questions themselves. The very character of the volunteers themselves is being impugned. And someone should answer the sneers--especially when they are made by one who currently is the standard-bearer of one of the two major American parties, and would like to be the standard-bearer again in 2008. Republicans have been answering for Herbert Hoover for the past 74 years. Democrats can spend at least two years answering for John Kerry. It is only fair, after all.

He actually, truly seems to think that nothing has changed since Vietnam, when being a good student was essential to not flunking out and getting picked up by the draft.
And he got well over 40% of the popular vote for President....

If you're seeing shades of gray, it's because you're not looking close enough to see the black and white dots.

I wonder if Kerry or the D leadership isn't just trying to throw the election. Its such a gigantic unforced error. All he does is compound it.
Look at the timeline of his foot entering his mouth
1. The troops are stuck in Iraq because they have a bad education.
2. Botched joke but everybody else in the world is at fault.
3. I am sorry you are stupid enough to be offended.
4. I am right no matter how you read my words.
what next ?
