Mais Pourquoi?

Why is Christine Boutin--someone who appears to have little relation, at best, to reality--a member of Nicolas Sarkozy's Cabinet?

A senior French politician, now a minister in President Nicolas Sarkozy's government, suggested last year that U.S. President George W. Bush might have been behind the September 11, 2001 attacks, according to a website.

The www.ReOpen911.info website, which promotes September 11 conspiracy theories, has posted a video clip of French Housing Minister Christine Boutin appearing to question that Osama bin Laden's al Qaeda group orchestrated the attacks. Boutin's office sought to play down the remarks.

Asked in an interview last November, before she became minister, whether she thought Bush might be behind the attacks, Boutin says: "I think it is possible. I think it is possible."

Boutin backs her assertion by pointing to the large number of people who visit websites that challenge the official line over the September 11 strikes against U.S. cities.

"I know that the websites that speak of this problem are websites that have the highest number of visits ... And I tell myself that this expression of the masses and of the people cannot be without any truth."

Boutin's office sought to play down the remarks, saying that later in the same interview she says: "I'm not telling you that I adhere to that position." This comment does not appear on the video clip on ReOpen911.

I realize that in France it is generally hard to fire people. But arranging for Mme. Boutin to go off and spend more time with her family should be a relatively easy matter thanks to her outlandish and unsupportable comments, n'est-ce pas? I mean, if the best that you can do to argue in favor of bizarre and goofy 9/11 conspiracy theories is to say "well, there are a lot of websites that raise suspicions and gee, not all of them can be wrong!" then maybe it is high time to give up the profession of politics and take up another line of work.

....Christine is preparing for the inevitable. As soon as the first shot of war is fired, French tradition dictates that all French males drop their pants to their ankles and present with upraised hands.

You should know that Boutin is one of the very few French politicians who is Pro-Life. She also tried vigourously to halt homosexual immorality by campainging against "civil-union" legislation for gays. Her Chrisian faith is deep in her heart. She once shocked the French establishment by bringing a Bible into the legislative chambers during a gay marriage debate.

Her stint as housing minister has also revealed a strong conservative streak, as she has challenged the French "right" to cheap government housing. She wants to throw anyone on drugs or who refuses to get a job out of the projects.

All she said on that video was "anything is possible", I think we can forgive her for that.

Granted, the fact that Joe Biden is a Senator is a strong argument in the affirmative, to say that it was "possible" that Bush and a significant portion of the Federal govermnent was behind 9/11 is just moonbat poop.

Envisioning when all that is Left is the Right.

that her sins are forgiven and she gets to spend eternity with Christ in heaven. It doesn't give her the qualifications or inherent right to do anything else.

It's nice she stands for life and for traditional marriage. The fact that she is a raving moonbat should give all of who hold those views the shakes. She is not a good messenger.

I have no desire to forgive her comments about 911. At all.

CongressCritter™: Never have so few felt like they were owed so much by so many for so little.

The French dont have enough crap in their own country, now they have to stir up stuff here? This isn't the Kennedy assination, 9/11 was pretty straight forward, we know what was done and we know who was behind it and we know how to take care of it. The French are probably pissed that we dont follow their example's of either surrendering at the drop of a hat or joining they're attackers! We are Americans, we will fight an enemy till the last person drops, we dont give up and we dont need the consul of the French!
For a long time I've had the feeling that the reason we cant find Bin Laden is that he's hiding in the south of France. A couple of video clips that I've seen of Bin Laden in a tent make me think that the tent was set up inside of a room ( in a house). As I've stated before, I spent several years in the Marine Corps and I was not a good garrison Marine, I liked being in the field and I spent at least half my military carreer living in tents and I believe those shots of Bin Laden in tents did not have outdoor shadows. What makes me think he's hiding in southern France, gee you mean besides him having great wealth, somewhere knowone would look for him and France's ultra liberal government, I guess maybe because it just makes more sence to me.

"I know that the websites that speak of this problem are websites that have the highest number of visits ... And I tell myself that this expression of the masses and of the people cannot be without any truth"

So what she is saying is that if *I* make a website proclaiming that aliens have landed from Mars and it gets the most hits, then there must be some truth to it, right?

Men often oppose a thing merely because they have had no agency in planning it, or because it may have been planned by those whom they dislike.

ONWARD CHRISTIAN SOLDIER!!
