Michael Arcuri Caves to Pressure on Iraq Supplemental
Liberal Bloggers Push This 'Moderate' Leftward

Liberal bloggers who turned against Blue Dog Democrats this week scored their first victory when New York Rep. Michael Arcuri flip-flopped, promising to vote with anti-war liberals who want to micromanage the Iraq War. Several liberal blogs (here, here, here and here) lauded Arcuri's decision to support the Democrats' supplemental spending bill.
Arcuri represents a district that backed President Bush in 2000 and 2004, putting him in a precarious situation. Ultimately, he decided to tilt to the left on Iraq. According to this report, his office was inundated with phone calls. Liberal bloggers deserve praise if they did in fact cause Arcuri to switch his position. Unfortunately for our country, he's come down on the side of the debate.

It was said during the NY24 election "anti war" would be his eventual position. Arcuri, of course gave the appearance of demurring.
This is the Democrat modus operandi and should be "food for thought" in every election forthwith. They never stand "with the troops" however, their voting shows exactly what position they take; in opposition.
Living in NY, I completely understand election dynamics. However, the people of this state continue to vote against common sense and their own self interest. It is now beyond failed intellectual reasoning, they are wholesale consumers of the liberal Kool aid and Arcuri is holding the ladle.
