Senator Kerry Settling Scores

pomp-ous

[pom-puh s] adj.

Sen. John Kerry has sunk to a new low. Now that he has officially ruled out another presidential run in 2008, he is bent on using his Senate seat to settle scores from the last one.

Take for example his shameful questioning of the contribution history of Ambassador to Belgium nominee Sam Fox at a recent Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing.

Read on...

Might I ask you what your opinion is with respect to the state of American politics as regards the politics of personal destruction?[...]

Fox said he didn't recall who asked him to give to the group and blamed partisans on both sides for contributing to so-called 527 groups that are not subject to conventional campaign finance rules.

"So is that your judgment that you would bring to the ambassadorship, that two wrongs make a right?" Kerry asked.[...]

Fox said he played no part in crafting the Swift Boat message and called on Congress to ban or more carefully regulate 527s.

But Kerry said the incident raised questions about Fox's fitness to serve as an ambassador.

How is that Senator? How is it that a nominee's personal decision to contribute his own money to a political organization working against your election raises any questions about his fitness to serve? Far from evidencing his bad judgment, it seems to me that his contribution to the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth confirms his good judgment. His comparatively small contribution certainly did more to advance his party's cause than George Soros's millions did. And while we're at it, how does a nominee's personal political contribution history have any bearing on his ability to serve as an Ambassador, Senator? Or are you saying that he just contributed to the wrong candidate? What if Mr. Fox had been a big donor to a certain charisma-challenged, self-important, Brahmin Democratic presidential candidate? Would he be similarly disqualified? I think not.

What an embarrassment you are, Senator Kerry. You are an embarrassment to the Senate, to the people of Massachusetts, and most of all to yourself. Senator, you gave it your best shot. You lost. Get over it. Please don't waste the time of the people of the United States by settling scores and throwing tantrums because the American people had the good sense not to throw you a coronation in 2004.

Remember the story you told in the third debate back in 2004, Senator Kerry? Remember the advice your mother gave when you were telling her about your plans to run for president? "Remember, integrity, integrity, integrity."

Senator Kerry, I dare say that if your mother was here to see this latest low point in your career, she might give similar advice. "Remember, John, dignity, dignity, dignity."

It must be hard to sit there and know that you could have been the one choosing who gets to be Ambassador to Belgium.

If only you had been worthy enough.

The Fuzzy Puppy of the VRWC.

Maybe it wasn't perfect enough. A touch too much grey, or maybe not enough. Maybe if he were single, he could have picked up more feminist votes. Maybe his hair was too perfect, and the feminists stayed home in protest of that important issue.

But I refuse to believe it was anything to do with his war record and status as anti-America icon, because I, for one, do not question his lack of patriotism. You can question is lack of intelligence, his lack of politic sense, and even his lack of wind-surfing style, but don't you dare question his lack of patriotism.

Just remember folks, but for an underperformaing vote in Cuyahoga County in 2004, this schmuck would be President of the United States today.

Sleep well.

So libs, how's that Congressional Resolution to end The War™ coming along?

He was reported to be disappointed that Fox did not 'admit that his contribution to the Swift Boat Veterans had been a mistake'.

Puh-lease.

Be not afraid

for not reaching down with an inverted plastic grocery bag over his hand to pluck this pile from the sidewalk of the Earth.

Envisioning when all that is Left is the Right.

Kerry did far more damage to himself than to Fox. In fact all the damage came on Kerry. Fox is a partisan, no question there. What Kerry confirmed is that he is a bitter sore loser like his pal Algore. Overall a win for us!

"The pain inflicted by your country's indifference is tenfold that inflicted by your ruthless captors."

Rep Sam Johnson on the House floor commenting on his experience as a Vietnam POW

"Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., grilled nominee Sam Fox about why he donated $50,000 to the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth during the 2004 presidential race. The group of Vietnam veterans made unsubstantiated allegations against Kerry — then the Democratic presidential nominee — and charged that Kerry did not deserve the medals he won in the Vietnam War."

Unsubstantiated allegations, huh?
