There's a document circulating around Washington, D.C., comparing Gen. David Petraeus and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, who last week said Petraeus "isn't in touch" and made other disparaging comments about our military leaders.

Bad reliability for RS the last several days, and that stupid Twitter box delays things repeatedly.
(And just as an aside... http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1895,2145408,00.asp)
it slows response down to a crawl and is always trying to do something. Obviously run by twits. Please don't be twits by using/taking $$ from it. And RedState goes offline regularly now.
What is going on???

The thing drives me crazy. It always refreshes while I am typing .

what happened to a really great post on Sen. Lott's grumblings about us pesky citizens that I wrote.
I thought it posted, but never found it. On that note, there used to be a great function where a poster could index and review the posts he wrote. Now it is apparently only threads a poster starts. It would be great to have that function back.
NO EXCUSE FOR THAT VULGAR TOILET LANGUAGE.
I AM WRITING THIS IN ALL-BOLD, ALL-CAP, BECAUSE I WANT YOUR ATTENTION. THIS IS RED STATE. YOU WANNA TALK LIKE THAT, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.
IF YOU FAIL TO APOLOGIZE HERE AND NOW, I WILL DOG YOU EVERY TIME I SEE A COMMENT FROM YOU.
NOT COOL!!!!
Editors, is this language OK with you? I'm aware kyle8 is in general an alright contributor, but this is crap. He get's smacked, and I mean hard, or I'm out of here.
It's war -- so when can we start shooting back at the enemy Democrats?

Envisioning when all that is Left is the Right.
I suspect Gen. Petraeus ought to lead in the category Reid thought he was aiming for though: Deserving to Have Post Offices Named After. Reid's incompetence strikes again!
Petraeus: B.S. from the U.S. Military Academy (West Point), U.S. Army Command and General Staff College (General George C. Marshall Award winner as top graduate), Masters of Public Administration from Princeton, Ph.D. from Princeton.
Reid: A.S. from Southern Utah College, B.S. from Utah State University, J.D. from George Washington University.
Hmmmmm....wonder who wins that one?
on Reid. The guy is not worthy of licking Petraeus' boots or even (especially) emptying bedpans at Walter Reed (as they say).

There is the perfect TV Ad in this, real estate shyster lawyer besmirches the reputations of highly decorated and accomplished military men. Let's compare and contrast the entire cast of characters to couch the senator's comments. Are we so incompetent in communications that we can't even hit that one out of the park?
Harry Reid criticizing men so more accomplished than he is an utter joke. I try to laugh at it, but it really is infuriating. How dare he besmirch the competency of a commander on the ground when the only thing he can command is a den of thieves in the U.S. Senate or a real estate scam in Clark County, Nevada!
"Honor is self-esteem made visible in action." - Ayn Rand, West Point, 1974
He encouraged Bush to listen to his generals, but now that Bush has listened, Reid wants everyone to stop listening to Petraeus and start listening his little bits of "wisdom". I can't think of a bigger partisan hack idiot out there than Reid.
As we use to say in the Infantry, " The only reason anyone would follow this individual is out of idle curiosity."
or "He couldn't lead ants to honey."
I could go on but the wimp doesn't deserve any more adulation.
out of the lemon that is Pace's removal from office. Reid's public persona, such as it is now, as a result of his oral diahrrea re. Pace and Petraeus, gives them the opening to do just that.
The RNC, and any spokesman with half a brain, should make the case that the WH pulled Pace's nomination because the Democratic-led Senate wasn't going to play fair, no matter what. They should paint it as sadly bowing to unfortunate and grossly unfair but very clear reality. They should argue that the Dems would have used Pace's reconfirmation hearing to so salt the political ground that Petraeus would have stood no chance come September.
Yeah, I'll admit that argument has its holes. Namely, the point that our military leaders deserve to have their civilian bosses backing them up, instead of tossing them to the wolves. But, it could gain some traction. (And, either way, it has to be ONE HECK of a lot better than just saying---or appearing to say---"Well, Pace's renomination fight was going to be a bother, and we're quite busy here!)
With Reid's words to date, the RNC should be able to hang a fair amount (at least some) of the blame for l'affaire Pace on the Senate Dems. They can say "look at Harry Reid and listen to what the leader of the Senate Democrats is saying. And, note, this is AFTER the public beating he took for saying that the Iraq War is lost. Does THIS strike you as someone willing to give Generals Pace and Petraeus a fair hearing?" They should be able to put the Dems on the defensive. At the very least, they should make Senate Dems defend their elected leader.
But, seeing as the President really wants that immigration bill, I suppose the WH will remain mute.
Maybe that's why Reid picked last week for his nutroots telecon? Because he knew the WH's ability to fire partisan shells back at him would be limited? Hmmm...

just as I had written a long and flowing scholarly, scotch fueled presentation, which was totally ruined by the off line antics.
This is getting tedious, please do whatever is needful to correct this.
And What the **** is twitter? it twitters at the bottom of my screen, is that what is causing the problems?
