"The Strongest Economy You've Never Heard Of"

There Are None So Blind . . .

Discussed further here. It would appear that the Carville dictum does not count when the President is a Republican, and again, I stress again as I have stressed in the past that there are only limited actions that an Administration can take to affect the economy. But most people are led to think otherwise by repeated news media efforts to link economic performance with the performance of a particular Administration. And for some reason, such efforts have ground to a halt currently.

Is it because the news media suddenly wants to teach us once and for all that an Administration can only take limited actions to affect the economy? I doubt it. The fallacy of the President's almost-omnipotent ability to bring about growth and prosperity will likely return to the fore under a new Administration, or if the economy goes south under the current one.

March 2004 350,000 new jobs created, the left wing medias mantra for a year had been jobless recoovery endless recession, what was the new york times headline ? "Bonds Down On Jobs News"

If you take a paper that runs nothing but a left wing agenda you need to stop. You need to tell them why. You need to get the people you know to do the same.

I have no problem with these people being able to say what they want. I do have a problem with them getting paid for it.

Bush deserves a fair amount of criticism for this. With Clinton, you had a nonstop ticker from him about his job record, the dow, the deficit, the growth rate, every time he opened his mouth. Even if it wasn't relevant to the subject matter at hand. Bush makes a speech every now and again and his approval ratings tick up, and then he goes into hiding. It's really disconcerting.

Actual headline from the NY Times business page either this morning or yesterday morning, concerning the stock market:

Dow sets record, barely

Kenilworth, IL

Do you all realize that the very day that was the climax of the Foley scandal, was also the very day that the Stock Market hit the all-time high. Purely coincidental?
