Would James Carville Really Be Proud Of This Production?
Not Your Father's--Or Mother's--Clinton Campaign

I guess that none of us should be surprised by the Clinton announcement. But I am surprised by what strikes me to be not an inconsiderable amount of political amateurishness exhibited by the subject of the story (read on):
Sen. Hillary Clinton jumped into the fray as a 2008 presidential candidate with the words "I'm in" posted on her Web site.
"And I'm in to win," she added in a statement, announcing she has set up an exploratory committee that can gauge opinions and raise money for a presidential campaign.
Clinton's announcement comes on the same day that the next president will be inaugurated two years down the road: January 20, 2009.
I am sure that this announcement got sped up given all of the buzz surrounding the filing of exploratory papers by Barack Obama. But I think the Clinton team blundered here; why make an announcement on the weekend, when fewer people are paying attention, after all? Why not delay the announcement until next week when the maximum number of people are paying attention to the news, thus giving Hillary Clinton more publicity?
And the following was just annoying:
In the video, she invited Americans to join her in a three-night series of live video Web chats beginning Monday.
"So let's talk. Let's chat, let's start a dialogue about your ideas and mine, because the conversation in Washington has been just a little one-sided lately, don't you think?"
Good grief. The Democrats win both chambers of Congress against an Administration whose political operations team looks like a deer caught in the headlights and their Presidential frontrunner still feels victimized.
Not all that impressive. Bill Clinton's political operation would have done far better than this.

If you note the video where she announces, it appears that it is summer behind her.
Is it possible, that she made her decision to run for President before, and just waited until this week to announce it?
