And one of the key factors is that South Africa's Thabo Mbeki was himself ousted from his party's leadership in December. This may have emboldened MDC voters, and also (paradoxically) allowed Mbeki to apply more pressure to Mugabe, since the union-led coalition that ousted Mbeki has no love for ZANU-PF.
But we'll see. Mugabe has lost elections before.

What a case study Zimbabwe makes, eh?
Ive used Mugabe and his gang of thugs for econ, history, poly sci, even my administration course.
I feel bad for the people who have to live in his quackocracy.
May this be true. The people of Zimbabwe have suffered greatly under Mugabe & deserve much better.
