ImageA reporter called to get my response to this:

John Linder told the reporter less than ten people called yesterday about Calvert and that it does not matter anyway because he does not trust anything bloggers have to say.

So, now you know where you rank with John Linder.

His number, if you want to call him, is 202-225-4272.

Linder ticked me off when he voted with Democratic leadership for the traitorous Guam appeasement bill, and I let him know. He brings shame to the state of Georgia. Congressman Linder, I look forward to supporting your opponent in the next GOP primary.

...through all the crap that a campaign demands for a lesser seat than what he ran for last time. In other words, I think he's a potential Senate (not likely) and gubernatorial (among the cast of thousands in 2010) candidate, not a serious candidate for the House.

Me and my wife called. Eric called. However many people who posted called. That comment angers me to no end. I think I am going to call 20 times today. EERRR

The decision should be made on principle.

Right now I am pretty hot under the collar after reading this. Best thing for me to do is simmer out and take a measured response.

This is really disgusting.

I've met John Linder on a couple of different occasions, and both times he came across as an arrogant, condescending, pompous jerk. I don't live in his district, but just to the south (unfortunately, in Cynthia McKinney's former district -- hey, at least she's gone). However, I did attend a townhall meeting held by Linder in his district last summer that concentrated on illegal immigration and, frankly, I did not care for alot of things that he had to say on that issue (I typed a report on this meeting for grassfire.org and would post it here, but of course it is totally off the topic of this thread).

The day of this townhall meeting I happened to see Congressman Linder walking towards the auditorium where he was speaking alone, so I caught up in order to strike up a little conversation. He basically looked down his nose at me the whole time, and seemed as if he didn't even want to give me the time of day. He had no idea that I don't live in his district and am not one of his constituents -- he's just a jerk by nature. He does give me the impression that he thinks the "dumb masses" don't know what's good for them but he does of course, and the will of the people is not high on his priority list. By the way, there are some others I've talked to at my Atlanta Young Republicans meetings that have the same negative perception of the man, as well.

I'm telling you guys, he needs to go. Send him back to his job as a dentist -- he should be cleaning teeth, not pretending to be a statesman in the U.S. Congress. Those of you in his district should vote him out in next year's election, and in the meantime keep up the calling -- he's fooled the people of his district long enough. Incidentally, I do like the Fair Tax plan, but I believe Linder only drafted it in an attempt to secure his victory in future elections while he can sit back and continue to do nothing. This Ken Calvert thing doesn't surprise me one single bit.

Congress Linder is one of the good guys in DC. He's got a solid conservative voting record from every conservative org. in town.

I support the effort to remove Calvert, but let's be careful not to throw out the baby with the bathwater. Remember Reagan said a 70% friend is not a 30% enemy. Linder's not our enemy.

...is agree that corrupt SOBs shouldn't be promoted from within the GOP and we're good to go.

I'm both surprised and disappointed that he has failed miserably to do that.
