A Media Whore No Longer

She came onto the stage two years ago figuratively carrying her son's dead body down to Crawford, TX to get the President's attention. What had allegedly been a movement for peace became an America bashing hate fest, including praise for the quasi-dictator Hugo Chavez and denunciation of American foreign policy, even against countries such as North Korea.
Cindy Sheehan was always a poseur. Having lost her son to war, her husband to divorce, and parts of her family to her shrillness, she was left trotting around the memory of her dead son, using his name as absolute moral authority for liberal cause celebre social ladder climbing — after all, Laurie David, Nancy Pelosi, etc. had not lost a son to war. When the media would loosen its fixation, Cindy would trot back down to Crawford to her "Peace House" and bash the President or travel to a foreign country and bash her own country.
In a final desperate plea for attention this morning, Cindy Sheehan has decided to do something. I'm not sure what. She's either leaving the Democratic Party or the United States or both. She's not going to Iraq to do social work to fix the damage evil Chimpy McBushHitler caused — that's for certain. She says, "Casey did indeed die for nothing," but she won't go try to give any meaning to his life and is apparently tired of trying to find meaning in his death. She's selling Camp Casey — it served its 15 minutes.
I once called Cindy Sheehan a media whore. I should not have. Media whores are usually savvy. Cindy Sheehan is not. She's more a sad, pathetic little woman who lost her son in a war she does not understand for a cause she detests and is in desperate need of professional help, not the encouraging, enabling cheers and ovations of a group fixated on the hope of a crushed American Empire.
We and she would all be better off if we just ignored her and let her finally find closure through the silence of our turned backs.

Makes the far left turn such pretty colors.

they'd so some selective editing and say that the relentless attacks from the right wing Bushitler lapdogs had finally caused this poor woman to break down.
First Rosie now the "Peace Mom".
Boy HillDog can really show those mean old Obaamamama folks and the Breck Girl supporters a thing or two.
HillDog should be on the phone right now reaching out to these two fine ladies and paragons of thought.

May Cindy and Rosie forever sing anti-American slurs together at some 50,000 watt radio station in South America.
Cindy's problem is that she did more harm to her cause than good. And she doesn't realize it. Cavorting around with Hugo Chavez and the entire Star Wars bar of far left anti-war freaks made her a caricature of herself. But I do have a tiny shred of sympathy for someone who loses a family member in war.
I had a very small (relatively speaking) taste of what Cindy and all familiy members have felt when my cousin was killed in Afghanistan earlier this month.

I hadn't seen him in a while and can't make the case that we were close. But I have fond memories of playing with him when we both were much younger. He was a great kid.
It was the first funeral I had ever been to for someone killed fighting for our country. It was very moving to say the least. Unlike Cindy though, it stiffened my resolve to viciously defend this country against enemies who wouldn't hesitate to kill millions of us regardless of which political party is temporarily in charge. Let's have spirited debate about tactics and strategy, but let's not doubt the evil intentions of our enemies and the fact that they cannot be reasoned with or placated.
If there were any dry eyes left in the church as the service came to a close, they were eliminated when this played.

Josh, we love you buddy. We owe you everything.
My brother died in 1979, victim of a service related accident. Far more of a senseless loss. My mother handled her grief privately, not excoriating Carter across the newswaves for mistakes made by my brothers' squadron leaders.
While I can feel pity for her loss, Cindy is whizzing on Casey's grave, every time she makes an appearance.
Memorial Day is not about your mother.
I cannot...imagine a Mother saying that her son "did indeed die for nothing," ???!!! That statement, alone, leaves me entirely speechless.
That's what we're up against, folks. The people on the other side, many of them indeed, actually believe this. They see the bad guys as being the U.S. government, the troops, and our president, not the terrorists and dictators.
It has almost become pathological, a psychosis of sort, the manner in which many on the far left (which is now just becoming "the left") go about their political lives.
The worst part of the whole Cindy Sheehan phenomenon is how ruthlessly the Dems exploited her.
Face it; she was a Mom in mourning. I don't know what her relationship was with her son, or what kind of wife or mother she was. But it ended in tragedy when he died in service to our country. This mother's reaction was not the typical one, but it is also probably not unprecedented for a mother in that situation to harbor some anger or bitterness toward the war that killed her son. In this case, though, opponents to the war rushed in and, rather than offering this mother some comfort or counseling for her loss, they exploited her anguish.
She displayed herself to be something of a nut, but THEY were the ones who put her on TV and encouraged her to embarrass herself in front of millions.
I still have sympathy for her loss, but I say shame on her exploiters.

Never forget, Nancy Pelosi met with her:
I've never considered Ms Sheehan a media whore by any stretch. She's simply a grieving mother that hasn't found closure and isn't at all satisfied with the justifications for the Iraqi invasion. She isn't ignorant on the war as this post proclaims, she just doesn't see things the way some people do. The majority of Americans disagree with the invasion and more so, the way it's been run. Some people have more of a drive to demand answers and not give in. Obviously, she has that. She, like a lot of Americans are not getting answers.
In some ways, the USA really isn't at war. I'm referring to John Q. Public et al. We're not seeing what we saw in Korea or Vietnam. We're not seeing the caskets, the taxicab bearers of bad news at our neighbors, or the young men in the obituaries. We're not seeing kids die on the news. So, to many, it's simply a daily report on CNN or FOX and doesn't interfere with their lives, perhaps(and it pains me to say) something akin to a traffic fatality report. We're simply reading and hearing of a sporadic few. That's why the 70% that disapprove are staying calm.
It shouldn't be surprising that a mere .03% has decided to become so vocal. I understand the media capitalizing on Sheehan. I don't understand why the war supporters have become so threatened by it.
Did you read Sheehan's article? It says what's been obvious to all of us for a long time. When she was camping out against Bush, she was a darling of the media and of the left. But as soon as she started applying the same standards to Democrats like Hillary, you never saw her on TV again and she becane persona non grata to her former supporters, even though her message hadn't changed a bit.
I agree. She's obviously a strong minded and outspoken person, unafraid of making a stand and holding on to her convictions. Considering it was the media and Dems that exploited and manipulated her campaign, why is there so much hatred toward her personally?
using the death of her heroic son to slander the USA, visiting idiots like Hugo Chavez and badmouthing the USA in foreign nations, ranting and raving like a lunatic, and trying to hide her previous ties to far left figures and organizations.
Thats just for starters.

Well there is the fact that she allowed herself to be used.
Some might even say reveled in it.

I just hope I live long enough to see her obituary:
"Ms. Sheehan was a shrill woman whose family left her over her anti-American actions preceeding the United States victory in Iraq"..

Now Cindy and Rosie can both become citizens of Venezuala since they both hate america and Cindy and Hugo seemed all lovey-dovey when she went to bash america there. They can also bring Harry with them since he likes it there also.

however I would like to see the MSM at least attempt to act as if they are fair and spend at least a day talking about her turning her back on the D party, wishful thinking I know however it would be nice.
