Bring on the Impeachment!

How 'bout that impeachment?

The left hasn't talked too much about it lately. After spending so long demanding impeachment because Bush lied and people died, the President exceeded his authority by spying on the American people and covering up the partisan firings of US Attorneys, and because Chimpy McBushitler Halliburton is corrupt, they've gotten quiet.

They really shouldn't.

They should be making the case loudly that Bush is corrupt so we can point to Elliot Spitzer demanding money for access.

They should start yelling against about the President spying on Americans and covering up the firings of US Attorneys. Then we can point to actually illegal spying by Elliot Spitzer and his efforts to cover up what happened by granting "special counsel" status to regular employees.

They should talk about how Bush lied to get us into war and we'll start talking about how Spitzer lied to get into office.

It'll make for great fodder to see the Democratic Congressmen and Senators of New York, one of whom is running for President, run clamoring to the microphone to assail Bush for eavesdropping, lying, and corruption and then dodge the question when we ask about their own Governor of their own party.

This post is just wrong on so many levels, Erick.

1) You are arguing that Republicans should only take up the issue of Spitzer in response to Democratic charges against Bush. And if they don't, are we quiet about Spitzer? I don't think so.

2) Spizter is a regional issue in New York. Actions of the President are a national issue affecting us all. A corrupt Democratic governor is a big issue. It's just not big enough even with Hillary in the vicinity.

3) Linking these two issues gives the appearance of conceding the claims against Bush. Your argument: "Maybe he did these things but we know for sure your guy did them." That may give pause to the person making the claims against Bush but it makes him look guilty in the eyes of everyone watching from the sidelines. Is your goal to give up Bush just to try and tarnish Hillary? Very short sighted.

4) Corruption is corruption is corruption. There's no place for it in government. Root it out where ever it's found. Our party or theirs.

Try taking the high road. If there's something to be said about Spitzer, say it. If someone attacks Bush, defend him. Try not to give the image that the Republican Party is desperate.

That's the best you've got?

Bush and Cheney havve lied to the American public and invaded a country that had NOTHING to do with 9/11 or Islamic terrorism. So far, over 3600 brave American soldiers have died, maybe 50,000 have been wounded, and hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqis are dead. All for nothing.

Bush and Cheney have politicized the Justice Department. Now, it consists of poorly trained lawyers beholden to Bush. Even Al Gongolez is incompetent.

He has decimated the 4th Amendment to the Constitution.

He gave huge tax cuts to millionaires while the rest of us scrape together a living.

And you complain about Elliot Spitzer? Go ahead, hold Spitzer's feet to the fire. If he's guilty, he'll be removed.

But your guy is so clearly guilty of high crimes and misdemeanors (screwing the country, not just getting a BJ from an intern).

Maybe impeachment isn't politically expedient. Maybe the Dems have other battles to fight (like an obstructionist Republic party).

One governor from NY is the best you've got? Pathetic.

It makes me want to pinch your cheeks.

Iraq had no connection to terrorism, really ? It didn't have training bases in its country and its intelligence service didn't have contacts with AQ ?

LOL policticized the justice department. Why you make it sound like he came in and fired all the attorneys and replaced him with his cronies. Can't think of a president that did that, oh wait I can, that would be America's first black president.

The fourth ammendment decimated ? You really should try reading it.

Oh so you would be in that 1/4 of the country that doesn't pay fed taxes at all ? Sorry he couldn't give you a bigger tax break.

Spitzer was and is New Yorks version of Huey Long. Maybe somebody will make a movie about him. Seeing as its new york and he is a confirmed lefty, it will be about the vast conspiracy to bring him down.

...when they see me they'll say, "There goes Loren Wallace,
the greatest thing to ever climb into a race car."

Well, we could throw in Reid's real estate deals, Feinstein's husband's defense contracts, Whatshisname from WV's real estate deals, of course there's always Dollar Bill, I guessing that any reasonable investigation of Murtha could turn up enough crap for an indictment or two, for starters.

And as far as an "obstructionist Republican party", you are a joke.

Oh, and be assured, the black helicopters will be landing in your yard. We have your library card info. And we've been listening to your coded calls to your "aunt". You'll like the Romanian prisons, except for the food, the lice and the beatings. Well, maybe you'd like the beatings.

so they have decided to go the death by a thousand cuts route instead; or, as they should call it here, "death by a thousand oversight hearings".

Spitzer has a great history of helping the little guy (known as "punishing any business with deep pockets") and is a Democrat, so if he made any slight mistakes along the way he needs to be forgiven. And heck, he can always use the current TNR defense of "these charges were brought by idealogues" (IOW their truth is irrelevant).
