Democrat Motto: Do As I Say...Not As I Do
Laws are for you people! They don't apply to Democrats!

Hey, you anti-war kooks out there assuming the Democrats will be strategerizing about how to give up in Iraq when they get to their bonny little retreat, and your sidekicks expecting them to find new ways to hand out our money (both of you have fairly well gotten screwed these past 12 months, huh?), step aside! The greenies are taking THEIR turn getting a shiv in the short ribs...near as we can tell from THIS picture at least.
In Washington DC there's this little law the Democrats see no reason to believe actually applies to THEM about hanging around idling their engines (sorta like how they've governed so far). Back in 1999, the DC Department of Health amended a municipal regulation (Title 20, ยง900.1) that applies to both gasoline and diesel engines. The DC idling law, which applies to buses with a seating capacity of twelve or more, restricts idling to three minutes, yet the Dems were seen sitting around for nearly 3 hours! How's that going for ya greenies? Feels nice, don't it? Yep, lead by example is a fine and dandy motto, ain't it? And the knee slapper of it all is the Dems took so long to load up because they were...
wait for it...
holding a hearing on Global Warming.
And before you even ASK...the Republicans took the train when they went on their little getaway, so forget about that little retort...m'kay?
Long-duration vehicle idling waste a considerable amount of fuel and exposes the driver, passengers, and the general public to harmful diesel air emissions, such as particulate matter and other air toxics.
Cool...y'all can go ahead and buy their fuel so they can burn it up parked in a no parking zone...and choke to death on the fumes while you're at it. Me? I'll take the train.

It says a lot about their character. But hey, when you pander to as many special interests you can, it's hard to keep track of what those interests are. Perhaps they need a cheat sheet. Alternatively, Republicans pander to ideals, and it's hard to forget those, and when they do, it's a career ending event. For Democrats, it's a lapse of memory.
And it's a REAL shame that this is something they could do without cost or downside, other than they lose their vehicle heat.

It appears that these are chartered buses. DC police should issue the charter company a citation and then the Dems should offer to pay the fine.
Just buy some carbon credits! :P
