...two home offices, with a Presidential security team in a large house in Tennessee where you need to run the air conditioner many months out of the year.

Or was I supposed to be funny?

esp now that the news came out today that he's getting the carbon credits from a company he formed and is the only one buying, YES it's very funny

Well done is better than well said. —Benjamin Franklin how you by stocks THROUGH a company.

And if you think he's getting rich on the 9.99 per buy, then I've got a bridge in Arizona.

I don't know what his company takes for making the but, but it aint rich money.

It's the old Pump & Dump™

Two thirds of the world is covered by water, the other third is covered by Champ Bailey

See the stock analogy down below. Or don't.

You want Al Gore to be a hypocrit, there's nothing I can do to stop you.

There's no basis in fact, but I suppose the end justifies the means.

You're talking about the transaction fees, I'm talking about the value of the underlying stock.

Two thirds of the world is covered by water, the other third is covered by Champ Bailey

...underlying stock.

That's the point.

His company is simply the conduit.

In this case Al Gore's company is essentially Ameritrade.

Survey says wrong answer.

The company keeps the stock thats the point.

-Thomas Paine: The American Crisis, No. 4, 1777

"Emissions trading (or cap and trade) is an administrative approach used to control pollution by providing economic incentives for achieving reductions in the emissions of pollutants [1]. In such a plan, a central authority (usually a government agency) sets a limit or cap on the amount of a pollutant that can be emitted. Companies or other groups that emit the pollutant are given credits or allowances which represent the right to emit a specific amount. The total amount of credits cannot exceed the cap, limiting total emissions to that level. Companies that pollute beyond their allowances must buy credits from those who pollute less than their allowances. This transfer is referred to as a trade."

And here's the important part...

"In effect, the buyer is being fined for polluting, while the seller is being rewarded for having reduced emissions. The more firms that need to buy credits, the higher the price of credits becomes -- which makes reducing emissions cost-effective in comparison"

Al Gore is treating HIMSELF like a poluting company and sending money INTO the system through his company.

His company does not KEEP any of the money.

Buying "carbon credits" in the first place is a gigantic Ponzi scheme. Still does nothing to reduce emissions. If he's buying them through his own company to enrich himself, the environment "will still collapse", at the same rate, while he laughs at his own stupidity without realizing it.

...then I've got a bridge of my own, and 100,000 lbs of carbon offsets, to sell you.

Come on, Rational. Save your energy for a battle that's worth fighting.

President of what?

Envisioning when all that is Left is the Right.

(Should have written Vice Presidential, but you get the drift.)

Does Dan Quayle still have security? Any Domino's pizza guy is more valuable to society than AlGorge. Who could possibly care, other than family, if he dropped dead? What could he possibly me assassinated for?

Envisioning when all that is Left is the Right.

Mr. Potato Head didn't need security when he was the VP...oh wait, I forgot the e, Potatoe..there we go.

Supposed to be funny ? Well I don't know, but take success when it comes.

Perhaps you can come up with a reason why after renovating his home its energy use increased. Or if he is so concerned about the environment he has an active zinc mine on that property ? Or why doesn't he have a single solar power source ?

Maybe its because he doesn't really care.

his weight gain. I'd say he's got an indoor hydroponic marijuana operation.
Regarding his incoherent ranting and mumbling - he's sampling the crop.

If you can't concede that these actions are not a fraud or a trick on the gullible then lets just move on.

You want to buy $10000 and do so through Ameritrade.

$10000 goes to the person you bought the stock from... 9.99 goes to Ameritrade.

This is really not that hard.

please don't defend this any more. Oh wait it's a joke right?

Well done is better than well said. —Benjamin Franklin

and start a carbon trading hedge fund... We will sooth the feelings of guilt from the liberal side with a nice logo, web page and greeny looking offices (roof top cigar lounge will be off-limits to investors)

I mentioned this in a RedHot, but I'll say it again.

I used about 23,000 KWH in all of 2006 (Southern MO, we run our air-conditioner too, Rational Lib) and that powered our whole farm and home. I figure I have some carbon credits to sell.

As a matter of fact, I'll dicker on the price if you want, and am willing to undercut my competition. For an agreed price, I will provide you with a real cool certificate (gold seal extra) that you can hang in the galley of your lear jet.

As a matter of fact, I'd be willing to sell my credits to any liberal poseur who needs the cover.

I meant what I said and I said what I meant. An elephant's faithful 100 percent.

Conservatives aren't allowed to make tainted money. Only libs can do it. Where have you been, man?:)

I have a working fireplace in my house, that I intentionally haven't fired up for over twenty years. Now, given my propensity for using green pine when I do build a fire (it's cheaper than seasoned hardwood), I figure by not starting one, I'd saved up about five tons worth of carbon offset credits.

I was going to discount them a bit and list them on the San Fancisco Bay Area Craigslist (figured they'd go fast there!). Then I really got an idea and hosted an 'offset credit' pyramid party. Being one of the first to 'buy in' with my carbon offset credits, I made out big time before the scheme collapsed, and still to this day have credits showing up in my mailbox!

So now I have so many credits, that I don't think the whole Bay Area can afford to buy them all. They're really fine credits, and I'm thinking of maybe eBay? I'll ship internationally if the price is right!

After all, if the GOP is successful in implementing anti-fraud voting procedures, they'll have to start animating their dead voters pretty soon :)

"I could explain, but that would be very long, very convoluted, and make you look very stupid. Nobody wants that... except maybe me."

Conservatives apparently can't do that, either. The nightly news would be all over them. All the accusations I've heard lately is about "right wing vote fraud"; nary a mention from the other side (no suspicious wins here, no sir).

BTW: Still like your tag line.

What Albie is doing is transparently self serving...and his buying carbon credits from himself is the least of the scam....he is deliberately using as much electricity as possible each month in anticipation of what he believes will be a 'cap and trade' system imposed by the feds to limit carbon dioxide emissions...under the anticipated plan, everybody's monthly use of electricity will be limited to what their average baseline monthly consumption was prior to the cap....if you use more than your 'share' you may extra in the form of carbon offsets.....sooooo,the higher your baseline consumption was each month before the cap,the higher your monthly ration...and what you dont use,you can sell or trade to somebody else....Albie is setting himself up to make out like a bandit by esablishing a very high average monthly baseline consumption that his monthly share will be correspondingly high...after the cap,he cuts back his actual real monthly consumption to what he actually needs, and sells the rest of his monthly share to the chumps who this whole scam is designed to fleece in the first about a husckster....Albie is a fat assed fraud and needs to be defined as such

in the freezer.
