No, *not* the mass jump for peace. Sheesh. Somebody would have to clean up afterwards.

What? Oh, Jules Crittenden is brainstorming ideas for Sheehan's candidacy.
Set up a squatter’s camp in the Panhandle. Alamo Square, maybe, it has a better backdrop with those four Victorians. Swim from Alcatraz. Occupy Alcatraz. It worked for those Indians. Use a laser to flash “Pelosi Lied” messages and anti-war heiroglyphs on the side of the TransAmerica Pyramid. Skateboard down Lombard Street. Chain herself to the cable car tracks. Liberate the bison in Golden Gate Park and herd them down Market Street. Bungee jump off the Golden Gate Bridge. Heck, maybe a mass jump for peace off the Golden Gate Bridge. People do that and live, you know. Sometimes. Gotta have faith. Anyway, that would get some press. Just trying to be helpful. She’s going to need to court the city’s important gay vote. Howzabout, run out in the middle of Castro Street and holler, “Pelosi-loving GLBT are warmongering scum!” That would get press, too.
There's a Terry Pratchett quote that I'm fond of: "It's like watching a wasp land on a nettle. Something's getting stung and you don't care which."
Read on for more cheerful schadenfreude.
First off, check this out for the whole story:

Sheehan, of course, can be easily discarded - Pelosi has numbers in the high sixties against her, which should surprise nobody - but that's the issue, isn't it? She has been easily discarded. Somebody wound up this terrorist-enabling moonbat and sent her off to go attack the GOP... and never even had the elementary courtesy of shutting her down once she wasn't needed anymore. I imagine that Cindy Sheehan feels like a thing right now, and she's actually right to do so. She is a thing. One that has no further meaning or purpose, and one whose creators would devoutly wish would just wind down already and stop getting in the way of people who matter. People who are real.
This would depress me, if I actually cared what happened to terrorist-enabling moonbats. As it is, it's part of a larger narrative that puts me at a perpetual risk of giggling like a little schoolgirl. Slowly but surely, the actual real members of the Democratic Party - the ones that matter - are easing themselves away from the enthusiasts that make up the base. Maybe I'm wrong: maybe the Democrats really will do something meaningful against the Iraqi war in September. If they don't, though... if they don't, the antiwar movement should* ask themselves what precisely they've been committing resources to for all this time.
Not that this releases them of the obligation to give the Democrats their money and time, mind you. But don't worry: your betters know best how to spend both on your behalf.

*They probably won't. I'd insert a battered wives analogy here, but I don't want to make light of battered wives, and I certainly don't want to insult them by comparing them to the antiwar movement.

in their avid, hardcore stance for defeat come Sept. With 2 lib journalists giving good news on the surge (good for America, bad for Dems) to the point of Durbin & co. (IIRC) coughing repeatedly about political progress (failures) rather than military failures, and now this piece, Dems seem to be backing off slightly as a CYA measure. I don't think they can shake the stink of defeat but someone in the party seems determined to try.
Cindy may have been used and abused but I can find no sympathy or empathy for her whatsoever. Further, I doubt she can damage Pelosi (more than Pelosi damages herself already) but I hope this keeps up because it's highly entertaining. Wasp and nettle indeed.
You may not be interested in war, but war is interested in you.

I mean just how many more cranks does the tune on this Jack In The Box have ? Unless she was told from the beginning that this was how it would play out, she has been misled, prompted to acts of public idiocy, disgraced the memory of her son and now being quietly shoved aside.
Its probably been awhile since anyone of significance in the democratic party took her calls. Even longer that the numbers she had for them actually worked.
Now she keeps escalating her antics. Its, always something more to achieve a result that won't come. Where will she stop ?
