Today's edition (via TalkLeft): Keith Olbermann[*] calls for Senator Hillary Clinton to be taken out and killed.

...at least, he did by the somewhat flexible standards traditionally used by the Online Left to judge any and all statements made by members of the Right, and isn't that really what's important, here?

PS: Before you start yelling at me, consider this: Jeralyn's being the calm one about this. At least one of the bloggers that she links to is seriously suggesting that Olbermann may be calling for Senator Clinton to be raped. And I'm going to guess that possibly a few of the others linked to merely found it impolitic to publicly agree with that take on the matter.

PPS: None of this should be taken as a suggestion that people stop screaming at Olbermann, mind you. Lord knows he's earned his bad kharma.

[*Let me clarify something, by the way: in case it wasn't obvious, I find Olbermann to be an abjectly stupid, unmitigated ass who has a history of saying offensive things much like this. I also can see why people wouldn't give him the benefit of the doubt; heck, I'll happily and cynically beat him with this myself. But his major mistake here was to make an own-goal; if he had stuck to Republican females he would have been fine with 95% of the people incensed now.]

Is this what passes for humor on the Olbermonster set?

Has anyone called for his resignation yet?

Does this network make any money airing this trash?

I've had to read numerous posts on this blog on how McCain was taken out of context on his "100 years in Iraq" quote and how the left has unreasonably been pushing the misunderstanding forward. Now you post a 13 second video with a supposedly inflammatory statement and expect me to jump to conclusions.

Nice work.

...for having to read all those awful, awful posts!

The Fuzzy Puppy of the VRWC. I've been usurped!

Is he part of Operation Chaos? Because he may have just raised enough money for Hillary to pay her staff's health insurance, snd perhaps even enough to buy ad time in IN & NC.

Between this and NBC saying they were 'pimping' Chelsea , Hillary doesn't need a bunch of San Francisco billionairheads.

I am really starting to look forward to November.

Over this past year, Olbermann's commentaries have become more and more sexist, verging on misogynist. On the left-wing blogs, women have been complaining more and more about him.

I used to know "progressive" professors like him in college. They combined all the standard left-wing slogans, with an incredible egotism which led them to be contemptuous of everybody else but themselves--all in the name of egalitarianism.

I beg to differ, Olbermann, Matthews, Shuster, and the rest of these so-called commentators need to all be fired. It is troubling to see the low standards of journalism and commentary have stooped to. Remember, today it might be Clinton they trash but tomorrow it will very likely be McCain or someone else. These guys have no legitimacy and no class.

MSNBC has seriously turned into the "all sexism, all the time" network. Matthews and Olbermann are literally dripping with misogyny. However, I do think that you are right. When Hillary is out of their way and McCain is the one challenging Lord Obama, then they will turn their fire on him in an ugly way as well. Prepare to hear a lot of offensive ageist comments from MSNBC, instead of sexist ones, once it is McCain vs. Obama in the GE.

Wouldn't it be more efficient to list what's right with MSNBC?

It would require less typing, less bandwidth and waste less energy.

I'll start the list in ascending order. Feel free add your thoughts.

Top 10 things that are *right* with MSNBC:

1)........

(UHH!.....I can't think of any....care to help me out???)

Sad to say, Kieth Olbermann is a typical Obama supporter. In fact, many Obama supporters, on left wing blogs, say much worse things about Senator Clinton than Olbermann did in this clip. If you look on Huffington post's blog by Rachel Sclar, that deals with this same clip, Obama's supporters are actually saying that Clinton deserved Olbermann's comments. You folks already know that I'm a Democrat, but part of the reason that I'll be voting for McCain in November--besides the fact that I think that Obama is an unqualified neophyte--is because I can't stand Obama's supporters and I find them quite scary. I mean if his supporters are any indication of his "movement", then I want absolutely no part of it. Yeah, it's a movement alright--a bowel movement.

Wow, Susannah, I wish you would quit beating around the bush and tell us what you REALLY think!

My first post on Redstate :)

I nominated KO for Worst Person in the World today as people who make his daily list usually don't use the "taking a woman into a room and her not coming out" as a metaphor.

Thanks Diggins. I'm glad that you liked my post. I have my moments of creativity. Oh, and welcome to Redstate. :-)

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

You don't know it yet, but we have you now, just ask Moe Lane*. It starts with something small and simple. "I'm still the same, it's just one vote, I'll go back to the Democrats next year, It's just John McCain," you rationalize to yourself. Soon you'll Kowalski all over the place. Then before you know it, you'll be more rabid than gamecock. And then your transformation to The Darkside™ will be complete.

*Yes, Moe's user page still has his Pirate name "Barnacle Brain Jack," Arrrrgh!

I was wrong to accuse Bill Clinton of playing the race card in SC and beyond. He did not. He merely treated Obama equally. He did get some just desserts given how often the dems accuse repubs of same when they don't either, but that is besides the point.

I just wrote a blog that asserts that there are two things more important than electing McCain, and they are:

1-Not electing Obama, and
2-not surrendering to the pc speech police when it comes to criticizing Obama

Bill is right when he says, as you did months ago, that it is Obama that is palying tuhe race card.

god bless

Thanks for the respect Gamecock. And, I am not being at all condescending when I say this--it takes a big man to admit that he is wrong on a blog. During my time on Redstate, I have realized that I have been wrong about several issues in which you have enlightened me about. I have the utmost respect for you and I can't wait to read your blog.

Oh, and by the way, I think that the Obama camp is playing the race card again before NC, because James Clyburn came out today, out of the blue, saying that Bill Clinton is acting "bizarre" and that Clinton has caused a unrepairable, permanent riff between himself and African-Americans. Clyburn also said that African-Americans think that there are some backroom conspiracies from the Clintons to screw over Obama and make him unelectable in the GE. I think that Obama has done that already all by himself, but I digress. Anyway, if McCain runs against Obama, be prepared for his campaign to then play the race card against McCain--I said it here first.

On a side note, Darin H, it's possible that I might stay on "the dark side"--we'll have to wait and see. :-)

Oh and Diggins, I agree--Olbermann should be his own "Worst person in the world" tonight due to his misogyny.

There, I think that I've responded to everyone. Y'all have a good night and God bless. :-)
