Multiple news outlets are reporting that Elliot Spitzer has called an 11:30am ET news conference. Several are claiming that various NY State government officials have told them that Spitzer plans to resign.
You know, it's not all that often that we get to catch a liberal exhibiting this level of hypocrisy (since in order to be a hypocrite, you have to have moral standards). However, from everyone I have met that has ever dealt with Spitzer - a man who painted himself as an actual liberal moral crusader - what is happening to him now does not yet begin to equal justice.

Have the left loons come up with a "this is just about a ________ (fill in blank)" to defend this clown? I am sure they are huddling with their media friends to plan the defense of this.
and have said so the past 2 days as a defence of NY Governor. Guess this is another example of how they want American to become like Europe. I would think Bill Clinton would support that position.

We must acknowledge however that Spitzer does not meet the left and MSM's definition of "hypocrite". He does support homosexual marriage, therefore regardless of the fact he prosecuted prostitutes and johns, he doesn't meet the new hypocrisy definition. Supporting homosexual marriage is a "free pass" to personally engage in any other immoral or deviant behavior.

Now, this is not a defense of Spitzer. If he had spent more time going after murderers/rapists/car thieves/burlaries and whatnot, and then we found out that he enjoyed a shot of the pure distillation of the mating ritual every now and again...
Well... one would have to have a heart of stone to not snort in derision.
As it is, I see him as a guy who busted competitors to his favored purveyor of shots of the pure distillation of the mating ritual and that ticks me off.

He hated rich republicans because they were...rich republicans. I hope they put him away for a long long time, and maybe he might run into some ole buddies he put in there. Its a great day for the Republican party and for individual rights in this country, this monster will be allowed to torment freedom no more.
This doesn't end up being blamed on George Bush. I'm certain that in the days ahead there will be a leak from the Justice Department that ignites a Senate hearing on possible dirty tricks and Henry Waxman will subpoena the President, the Vice President, Laura, the two daughters, and if possible, George 41 and Barbara. Altough, with Barbara's temperment, Waxman may just want to pass on that idea. All kidding aside, considering his actions as a AG and Governor, there isn't a hot enough place in hell for this human being.

Vitter didn't go out of his way to prosuctue people for this, while he is addicted to it himself. The fact that Spitzer could sleep at night is clear evidence that he has no conscience. Put that man away for a long time.
The self-righteous way he went after folks makes him look like a fool, and he deserves whatever he gets. Roger Simon puts it perfectly in the Politico today, 'if stupidity ever gets to $200 a barrel, I want drilling rights to Eliot Spitzer’s head.'

That reminds me, we do need to come up with a new, scrubbed, focus grouped name for solicitors of prostitutes. How about "happy" or "joyous"? A Happy American or Joyous American sounds much better. And who amongst us wouldn't want to count a Happy American as a dear friend and/or co-worker?

One other thing. I think Spitzer would have stood a chance if it weren't for the "dangerous" part. You know how Nazi-like liberals are about condom use...
