With the coronation of Prime Minister Pelosi firmly ensconced in the American psyche, and as she continues to hold court with her minions, jesters, and sock puppets, we can all rest easy that AT LAST the "work-around" to this untidy little President business is nearly behind us once and for all.
Remember people of the sheep, America SPOKE in November, and this is exactly what they demanded. Right?
Can't seem to indict anyone for crimes they didn't commit. Can't seem to undo Presidential elections proven to be fair and accurate. Continue to fail at every turn to bring legislation forward that actually ACCOMPLISHES anything. So what's left?
Why, a New America, of course. Not bogged down with petty little issues like separation of powers...heaven's no. Circumvential Government is the word of the day, and PM Pelosi means to bring it to your front door America.
More below the fold...
An excellent piece that passed us by recently over at CQ Today [subscription required] recaps the Prime Minister's first 100 days:
The 100 hours are long gone, and the first 100 days of the 110th will end this week. Barring a miracle in the Senate, none of Pelosi’s priority legislation will have reached President Bush’s desk.
[...]
The Democratic congressional leadership has not had much time to work on its agenda since the 100 hours expired in January. The war in Iraq has been the dominant issue, overshadowing the minimum wage, interest rates on student loans and Medicare drug prices for patients. The day after the November elections, Pelosi, D-Calif., declared that the clearest message she heard from voters was a demand for a new policy in Iraq.
And new policy PM Pelosi has, indeed. There's the first item, the so-called "slow bleed plan" which quickly morphed into the "Pork for Defeat" Supplemental that bought enough votes to clear the House.
Having assumed the job of Secretary of Defense AND all the Joint Chief positions, lickety-split the Prime Minister hopped on Air Force 2 1/2 and headed east to take over her next job - Secretary of State, and by the reception of those she aims to MAKE be our friends, it's safe to say she is comfortably in control of asserting American influence in the Middle East as well.

From the Sun-Sentinel:
Khaled al-Batch, a terrorist and spokesman for Palestinian Islamic Jihad, expressed hope that Nancy Pelosi would continue winning elections, explaining that her visit to Damascus demonstrated she understands the Middle East.
Abu Abdullah, a leader of Hamas in the Gaza Strip, said the willingness of Nancy Pelosi to talk with Syria "is proof of the importance of the resistance against the U.S. The Americans know and understand they are losing in Iraq and the Middle East and that their only chance to survive is to reduce hostilities with Arab countries and with Islam. Islam is the new giant of the world," he said.
"Pelosi's visit to Syria was very brave. She is a brave woman," said Jihad Jaara, a senior member of the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade terror group and the infamous leader of the 2002 siege of Bethlehem's Church of the Nativity.
See how well things go when you put the PM to her duties, and send her off to save the world from George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, and Haliburton? Imagine how we'll settle in with the rest of the world when she finishes ticking off her agenda items.
And she is busy day and night, ever-mindful of her mission and her responsibilities to the New World she is creating.

Home for now while her "people" get her laundry and dry cleaning caught up, the Prime Minister is contemplating the next piece of her new world order of diplomacy. Yeah, we know Iran May Be Helping Iraqis Build Bombs and so what? It's President Bush's fault, and once she gets back over to chill in Mahmoud's crib all will be right as rain. Why, once she lets him know SHE is in the House...

...and once she takes out all his little "roadblocks" such as the US Military and her allies, why Mahmoud will have no other CHOICE than to go along with her insistences that we surrender and retreat and give Iran our defeat. And the world will return to peace, love, and harmony.

Go easy now folks, she is only doing what you insisted she do by your voice last November. That, and nothing more.

There is no other reason for the Speaker of the House to meet independently with America’s enemies, especially an enemy who is actively seeking to kill United States troops, except to undermine the Administration that is waging war against that enemy. It doesn’t even matter what she may say to Ahmadinejad. Nor does it matter what the outcome of such a meeting may be. She could parrot all of the Administration’s talking points and positions. She could emerge with no substantive agreement. The very fact that the meeting took place at all legitimizes the enemy, their tactics, and the need for more meetings. And that undermines the strategy the Administration is pursuing of trying to isolate Iran. Worse, it emboldens Iran to be more aggressive in its attacks against our troops.
No, I think the criticism is justified.

Nancy Pelosi is the Speaker of the Democratic majority of the House. To the extent that she speaks for that majority, not just herself, she represents a lot of power. As we are seeing now with the attempt to use the military spending bill to force Bush to surrender Iraq.
The Democrats used Congress to fight President Reagan about our policy for Nicaragua. The foreign policy bills passed by Pelosi's House will have many strings attached to them. Filibuster & veto will be the only defense, and that still leads to compromise, or at least discussions.
you have a fair point. she can't be ignored though...W. is going to HAVE to say AND do something to put her in her place...problem is, that would be inconsistent with how he has acted in the face of the Daschles, Pelosis, and Reids thus far...doubt he'll change now.

Conservatives (and Presidential Candidates especially) shall offer no aid and comfort to the opposition in times of legislative conflict (and ensuing political campaigns).
Can't you just FEEL the love between Pelosi and Sheehan?
I mean, look how close they sit together... the warm fuzzy smiles... and how tightly they are... embracing...
errrr... touching... well, sort of...
Okay...
So it looks more like Nancy can't stand to be seen with her and how desperate Leanin'-Sheehan is to having her photo taken to prove how much her democratic heros love her...
Yep... This picture paints a thousand words alright...
Sorta a visual representation of the difference between what democrats "say" and what they really "mean".

...is Yasser Arafat. Looks like they kept a spot open on the loveseat in his memory.
who could make Nancy Pelosi look good, gawd what a wretch !
"a man's admiration for absolute government is proportinate to the contempt he feels for those around him". Tocqueville

The fact is that Nancy Pelosi does not control foreign policy. Nothing that she has to say here really matters. As ridiculous as she looks, I wonder if feeding into the "woman on top" meme that the media loves, we don't further her PR goals.
She is obviously desperate for attention. If we answer with, "Nancy is usurping power" and "Nancy has become too powerful" doesn't it just make her look more important? The President needs to talk over her, even risk publicly humiliating her by refusing to acknowledge her.
