A few morning tidbits from my desk

1. Retail sales are up. But, but, but . . . how can this be? Apparently, most of the sales were due to strong demand at the gas pump. Just you wait, Democrats will increase taxes on the gas pump and . . . oh yeah, we Americans pretty much have to drive so we'll suck it up and pay.
2. It looks like Berlusconi is back! That's great news for Italy. While the left doesn't like him, the man is a shrewd businessman and was a competent prime minister last go round. Of course, isn't the media narrative still that conservatism is on the retreat around the world?
3. We've been saying what Clinton wishes she can say. That's why we want Obama to win the nomination. The guy is an arrogant jerk. He and his wife just can't help themselves. Are Americans really going to elect a guy who thinks hard times causes people to snuggle up to guns and God and makes it sound like guns and God are bad things? Likewise, this is a man whose wife thinks we are a mean spirited nation that she only recently decided she was proud of, he's friend's with a guy who tried to blow up the Pentagon and the Capitol in the name of communist revolution, and his spiritual mentor claims the white man created AIDS to kill the black man -- not to mention the whole Zionist conspiracy thing.

BTW, that hilarious comparison video is also on youtube. Seems like as good a place as any to share that good news....
Just in case anyone missed it over the weekend....
To take your preference for Obama winning the nomination further -- it would really be best if he & his wife keep shooting themselves in the foot coupled with new revelations such as Wright and Ayres. Then, if he gets the nomination -- especially with a bruising fight -- he would be a damaged candidate. And hopefully Hilary's supporters would vote for McCain.
Mine has been significantly reduced. I'm consolidating trips, and not taking any extra trips. I'd say I've reduced my consumption by at least 30%, and will be reducing that even further very soon.

the Democrats show more and more evidence of imploding each and every day.
I have no doubt Obama will win the nomination, even here in rural NY the "Hillary's" are abandoning ship at an alarming rate.
Kinda like how the Dems. always threaten to move to Canada.
BTW, apparently Berlusconi's opponent ripped off McCain's Straight Talk Express... Two thoughts, I really hope that it works out better for McCain than for this other guy, and I think that McCain should apply for a trademark. He's still having trouble fundraising, so he could apply any $$ he makes off the idea to his campaign.
