Bredesen Ill: Will Undergo Tests at Mayo

Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen (D), who has been in the hospital for four days, has been transferred to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota for more tests. Doctors suspect that a tick bite is responsible for his current illness, but they are unable to fit his symptoms into a clear diagnosis:

"I don't know that they've ruled anything out. I think they were very clear that the fever has broken, and that was a very disconcerting part of it. … His doctors are very clear that he's improving, but they don't have any conclusive diagnosis — and they want to get that," Corney said. "After consulting with his family late (Tuesday), he decided to make the trip. And he expects it will be a short one."

Our prayers are with Governor Bredesen and his family.

He's my governor, and while we disagree sometimes, he is a good man.

I was bitten by a tick once.

6 months later a "mystery illness" showed up.

It took six years before the doctors figured out it was Lyme disease, (and "oh, by the way, you probably got Rocky Mountian Spotted Fever at the same time- but you're not dead so you must have fought that off already").

Ticks should be slaughtered without mercy.

God's grace go with Gov. Bredesen.
