Have at it Ladies and Gentlemen.
The boy scout beat the playboy.
And has there ever been a decent on air commentator? I'm not a huge NFL guy, but occasionally watch and actually think the best recent commentator (besides Rush Limbaugh) was that dude that was in the Bachelor. He offered great fan commentary instead of trying to be the smartest guy in the room.
BTW, did you stick around to see the rather insipid Barack Obama ad? Mr. Platitude.

through your anti-Romney lense.
We get it. You don't like Romney.
Are you for anyone? Is there anything else in your life besides bashing Romney?
... the Dems were talking about some mythical sports-politics nexus back in 2004 when the Red Sox won right before the presidential election, but that didn't help New England's favorite son (Kerry) win the White House.
I'm for McCain too, but we should keep sports and politics separate. That way, I get to vote Republican and still enjoy James Carville calling Lee Corso a moron. (BTW, the link below is one of the funniest sports-related videos I've ever seen)

he played high school football about five miles from where I lived. I also am a Micheal Strahan fan. And I do not like the Patriots. So it was a great ending to a good game. but I still don't like Newy York City. (although it's better than bean town.)

Obama ad was pretty pointless, IMO. It was short and rather unmemorable. Its main theme was ending the war. No mention of victory or any other qualifier explaining why he was ending it or how he would do so.
Plus, it was played after Tom Petty but before the beginning of the 2nd half- in other words, it was played when most people went to the bathroom.
Waste of money if you ask me

I'm not a big NFL fan but I was into this year's superbowl. Great game, really evenly matched until the rollercoaster at the end. The Giants defense won it hands-down by keeping Brady off-balance and discombobulated, and that 32-yard pass to Tyree was nothing short of a miracle. The knockdowns and sacks and pressure threw him off just enough to keep him in check. Meanwhile the Patriot defense just collapsed in the last two minutes. Manning proved that if you give him two minutes and an tired defense, he can hurt you, real bad. There are a lot of sad people here in New England tonight.
Plaxico Burress' emotion at the end of the game was really one of the most heart-grabbing moments I've ever seen in professional football. The Giants deserved it, and it was an amazing moment.
Super Bowl MVP.
17-14.
Oh. My. God.
I'm proud to be the New York Giants. Eat your hearts out, haters.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Eli taking the El train out of sack central station was downright impressive, and Tyree pulling a stretch armstrong and magnetic helmet combo finished off a seriously memorable play.
A few too many sacks for my taste, just the right amount of turnovers. Lot of guts and glory type reaching for the extra inches. Love that.
Gridiron heroism .... good day in the NFL. Now comes that horrible time of the year I like to call the dark times. When is the first preseason game again?

You got hockey going full swing. They just went past the half way point. And baseball picks up real soon.
I now turn and say...GO BLUES...and I hope the Cardinals don't stink again.
Don't know what the puck I was thinking. Carolina Hurricanes are playing on Super Tuesday against Nashville, and they're losers away.

The Cardinals got their first World Series in the new stadium in 2006. The Cubs are still awaiting their first win at their new stadium, too! :-D
The Bud Light Cavemen and their sucky invention. The subtitles were PERFECT.
but I rather liked seeing Justin Timberlake hit in the head with a TV after hitting the mailbox three times.
I almost would pay to see that.
Something about him getting smacked in the temple with a flatscreen was oh so satisfying.
Also, the killer mouse was pretty sweet.

when the lizzard ate the grasshopper had me laughing hard and long. dvr is great.
The bud horse add was the winner at that party though.
"Catch of a lifetime" is right.
And I dare any sports radio announcer--especially Mike and the Mad Dog--to come on radio now and say Eli wasn't worth it. PLEASE.

I was pulling for the Giants simply to quiet all those self-righteous know-it-alls who keep trashing Manning. Not that I love Manning or anything, I just lose patience quickly with those blow hards who sit on their chairs casting judgment on everyone.
And possibly my happiest sports moment since the Rangers in '94. But can someone explain why nearly all the post game 'analysis' has been about the Patriots losing and not the Giants winning?
By the way, that play on the last drive from Manning to Tyree was phenomenal but the most impressive play of the game in my mind was Toomers catch at the sideline in the first half - uncalled offensive pass interference aside the job he did to keep those feet in bounds was phenomenal. I would also add the Smith catch on the final drive when his great footwork gotthe two extra yards for the first down (though the angle they keep showing does not do it justice).

Actually it was a slop shot in a busted play. Only God can make one of those work, and we all know why He did it.
Drink Good Coffee. You can sleep when you're dead.
Your right it was a busted play - the best ones often are - Eli needed a great effort to stay alive and Tyree's hands on that catch were great.
That wasn't a bad thing. He went over to congratulate Coughlin first. He knew the game was over, thought time was expired when he started over, and didn't want to have to do the whole thing over again in another second. It would have been slimy if he had left without the congrats to Coughlin, the way the Seahawks coach did two years ago.

There's no reason that play should have ended up the way it did. I knew it was over the instant Tyree caught the pass and God kept that football attached to his helmet.
I did say a Giants win would be primarily the result of the G-Men's D-Line. They played that whole game two yards in NE's backfield.
I look at the final scoreline and think one thing. New England was lucky...
"I believe we must adjourn this meeting to some other place." - The last recorded words of Adam Smith.
Third game in a row against the three best OL in the league and the Giants killed them. They rotated their speed rushers throughout the game so they were always fresher than the O-line and brought pressure on nearly every play.
Cheaters lose.
I haven't been this happy at the finish of a Superbowl since XXXIII.

I didn't care who won the game, so I really enjoyed the very good play by both teams on both sides of the ball.
I thought this was one of the best, if not the best Super Bowl. No infractions gave the game away, both teams were in it down to the end.
The only complaint I had was the announcers and the game clock at the end of the game. Didn't they notice its erratic behavior? It stopped when it shouldn't have and ran when it shouldn't have. Maybe it was just catching up, but Aikman or Buck should have mentioned it. Has any explanation been given by the league?
History was going to be set tonight, no matter what. Four rings for Brady (he'll probably get them eventually) or two consecutive years' MVP won by brother QBs on different teams.

The clock on the ofx telecast is not the official 'game clock', it is not even in the stadium clock; it is actually kept by Fox themselves. The official game clock is kept on the field by the umpire I believe - and at he end there were a lot of plays that the umps stopped the clock on becuase of the delay in getting up that Fox was slow in responding to.
That said, the Fox game clock had serious problems all game and someone on the technical staff needs to be replaced.
Thanks. I only got to see the second half at home (first half at pizza place), so I only noticed the clock during the final two minutes. I couldn't figure why it was stopped on a running play that obviously succeeded in making first down, there was no time out called, no measurement, and no penalty. Then it ran wild, running off several seconds. I don't watch many games on Fox, so I wasn't aware that it was their own clock. Seems to me the networks used to show the stadium clock, which used to be supposedly the "real" clock.
The "Third Worst Person in the World" and aiming higher.
If you watch the replay towards the end of the Giants first drive the clock on TV was stuck at 6+ minutes for like two plays when the stadium clock visible in teh end zone was in the low 5s.
They did use to show the stadium clocks but they are enamored with their own technology - the 1st down lines, great innovation, not just using hte stadium clock in a window pretty pointless.
Eli sucks, Strahan sucks, Burress sucks, Jacobs sucks, I hate the Giants, but I'm happy that the Patriots (and, by extension, that Patriot-loving hack of a commissioner) lost. Entertaining game though, very intense.
I'm sure Tiki Barber is throwing up behind a dumpster right now, so that thought fills me with happiness as well.
Go get 'em, Arlen!

I hope this is a foreshadowing of Tuesday.
