Unless, that is, one of the editors deletes me permanently because of my acerbic comments about yesterday's hearing in front of the Senate Armed Services Committee. I hope not, because in this as in most of the pessimistic things I write here, I'd love nothing more than to be proven wrong. I hope I'll be proven wrong. I want the Iraqi people to prove me wrong. But it's going to take some proving.

You guys have no idea the amount of time and sweat Clayton has put in around here since he volunteered on the eve of the 2004 election. And you have no idea the volume of time and energy he has taken from his family over the past week to see this through.
