RedState Radio: Part 3 of our conversation with Fred Thompson

Can any President in the present political climate govern as a fiscal conservative? Seriously? The Republicans have been talking a good game, but under the present administration they have failed to deliver on their "small government" pledge. Instead, they've been Democrat-lite.
Today on RedState Radio, we pose the question to Senator Fred Thompson. He gives us his take on being a fiscal conservative. Arguably, given his socially conservative voting record and his "leave me alone" brand of practical conservatism, Fred Thompson might just be the one Republican candidate who can reunite social conservatives and libertarians within the Grand Old Party.
In addition to discussing whether a President can really be a fiscal conservative, Senator Thompson also tells us what he'd do first as President. Your mileage may vary, but it sounds to me like he takes a swipe at the current administration and, in particular, the Attorney General's inept management.
Lastly, Senator Thompson addresses the rumor that he once killed a man and whether a certain famous person in Los Angeles is really afraid of him. All this today on a great episode of RedState Radio.
Here's a hard link to the podcast.

The most popular candidate on the Internet on Friday? RP?? Say it ain't so.... No but really, who could this be?
Thanks for your work Erick. It is good to hear more from Fred. My only hope is that he can come close to living up to the hype. What I have been hearing from him is good, but at the same time his answers do seem a bit over-simplified at times.
And the talk about bipartisanship... Frankly that never goes over well with with me. Particularly when addressed to a conservative audience. I understand calling the Democrats out on their political witch-hunts and other means of distraction, but phrases like "we've got to work together".... I guess they've got to say it- trite, feel-good, and useless as it may be. But it's not like they can really be worked with. I just have a hard time with the fact that we are enabling the "can't we all just get along", compromise, moderate mindset.
The absolute clarity on cutting spending is awesome.

That was good. The Sen. is not afraid to hit questions head on. I feel that will save him and all of us alot of grief in the future.

I'd like to echo the Senator's words of thanks at the end of the interview....thanks for all you do, Erick. Keep it up.

Thanks for the interview. If I'm not mistaken, Fred is the only candidate who has posted on Redstate and the interview is the icing on the cake.
