Considering supporting a group like the Competitive Enterprise Institute, which Algore and Newsweek have sought to discredit because CEI fights back with facts.

In fact, here are the five groups you might want to support as a response to Algore's Nobel Prize:

Competitive Enterprise Institute

Heritage Foundation

I t is tragic that Americans cannot be proud and happy about an American winning such a prestigious award-America's standing in the world has been very damaged since the start of the war, and it is good to see that the world is not holding the American people responsible for what has happened.

Although I can see why you might think otherwise.

Any award ALSO won by Yassar (Terrorist Leader) Arafat, and Jimma the Rock(head) Carter......

.... is not prestigious.

It's war -- so when can we start shooting back at the enemy Democrats?

Let's see now. Some previous winners would include:

2005 The prize was awarded jointly to:
INTERNATIONAL ATOMIC ENERGY AGENCY and MOHAMED ELBARADEI for spending 12 years getting jacked around by various governments in the Middle East and not being able to find their butts with both hands in a well lit room.

2002 The prize was awarded to:
JIMMY CARTER JR., former President of the United States of America, for his tireless work at undermining the Bush Administration and making a complete fool of himself slathering over foreign dictators.

2001 The prize was awarded to: UNITED NATIONS, New York, NY, USA; KOFI ANNAN, United Nations Secretary General for participating and covering up the biggest financial scandal in world history, along with successfully ignoring a couple of genocides.

2000 The prize was awarded to: KIM DAE JUNG for his work for democracy and human rights in South Korea and in East Asia in general, and for peace and reconciliation with North Korea in particular requiring the ability to paper over several decades of genocide by the NK government against it's own people through starvation.

1994 The prize was awarded joinly to: YASSER ARAFAT , Chairman of the Executive Committee of the PLO, President of the Palestinian National Authority and poster boy terrorist who is personally responsible for the murder of thousands of innocent civilians while simultaneously stealing billions from the funds given by governments to aid the "Palestinian people".

1990 MIKHAIL SERGEYEVICH GORBACHEV , President of the USSR, helped to bring the Cold War to an end. No mention of the fact that it was Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher who actually brought the Soviet Bear to it's knees and ended the Cold War. Gorby just happened to be there to sign the surrender.

1988 THE UNITED NATIONS PEACE-KEEPING FORCES New York, NY, U.S.A. for their continued efforts to bring sexual slavery and child rape to third world countries.

1985 INTERNATIONAL PHYSICIANS FOR THE PREVENTION OF NUCLEAR WAR Boston, MA, U.S.A. for their tireless efforts as a Communist front group dedicated to the destruction of the West.

1982 The prize was awarded jointly to:
ALVA MYRDAL , former Cabinet Minister, diplomat, delegate to United Nations General Assembly on Disarmament, writer.
ALFONSO GARCÍA ROBLES , diplomat, delegate to the United Nations General Assembly on Disarmament, former Secretary for Foreign Affairs.
See 1985.

1981 OFFICE OF THE UNITED NATIONS HIGH COMMISSIONER FOR REFUGEES Geneva, Switzerland for their tireless efforts in insuring that there is a steady flow of refugees thanks to policies that anybody with a single digit IQ would know were the product of a bunch of raving lunatics.

1973 The prize was awarded jointly to:
HENRY A. KISSINGER , Secretary of State, State Department, Washington.
LE DUC THO , Democratic Republic of Viet Nam. (Declined the prize.)

for jointly negotiating the Vietnam peace accord in 1973 which laid the groundwork for the Democratic Congress to defund the South Vietnamese government, paving the way for millions of Vietnamese to be reeducated and various other dictators in Southeast Asia to butcher millions.

Hell of a job that Nobel committee does. Al Gore fits right in with this group of pathetic pretenders.

"...and it is good to see that the world is not holding the American people responsible for what has happened"

This is where I get confused...what has happened? The Earth is possibly in a warming phase and you feel some shame or guilt as an American? Since when did this award represent a World View?

If Gore had done something related to peace then maybe a peace prize would be in order and we could all be proud and happy...but what we have is the wrong award given to the wrong person. If there was a Nobel climate award with a fiction category then maybe I could be proud of Al.

The lions share of the other Nobels. You know chemistry, physics medicine economics.

Can't Say I am happy about any American being placed in a group honoring Yaser Arafat.

I joined the Heritage Foundation just a few mins ago giving them 50 dollars. I really hate how they are trying to end the science debate about global warming and i want to thank the site for putting the links on here

hate how the liberals are trying to end it..not HF..Correction

Last year CEI produced a TV ad attacking global warming as a myth. One of the very scientists that CEI claimed to be citing in its spot stated:

"These television ads are a deliberate effort to confuse and mislead the public about the global warming debate. They are selectively using only parts of my previous research to support their claims. They are not telling the entire story to the public."

The ad also contained other glaring falsehoods.

For what discipline did Algore get his prize?

Economics? for single handedly inventing the internet or inventing the carbon credit economy?

Physics? for inventing a whole new science?

Chemistry? his son is doing some pioneering work there.

Literature? for his wonderful books?

Peace?

Medicine?

PS: If we must trade religious texts... Matthew 5:43-48

"You have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbor, and hate thy enemy. But I say to you, Love your enemies: do good to them that hate you: and pray for them that persecute and calumniate you: That you may be the children of your Father who is in heaven, who maketh his sun to rise upon the good, and bad, and raineth upon the just and the unjust. For if you love them that love you, what reward shall you have? do not even the publicans this? And if you salute your brethren only, what do you more? do not also the heathens this? Be you therefore perfect, as also your heavenly Father is perfect.

An outlook that is often overlooked is the shear weight of logic and self-interest. That's what I love about guys like this:

http://www.thedailygreen.com/2007/10/10/why-global-warming-and-peak-oil-...

You read the article and realize that what government wants to mandate is quite possibly immaterial; not from social concern, not from political correctness, but simply motivated by self-interest and greed.

Nothin' wrong with that!

2007: Gore and Carter are still brilliant, passionate people doing what they can to better the planet; Bush is still a dimwitted ideologue who thinks God told him to invade Iraq.

Gore and Carter want to 'better the planet' in ways that seem to involve bashing America at every opportunity. Bush wants to better America.

I know which side I'm on.

At least Bush didn't take a prize also accepted by a filthy, murderous lump of scum that is Yassir Arafat. Any sensible American would refuse a prize tainted with blood such as the Nobel "Peace" Prize.

"bettering" God's earth. Let me ask you, what in the optimum human population to make the earth the best it can be? And will Gore use the same methods Mao and Stalin did in the bettering process?
